Some friends were getting together (within state guidelines for the pandemic) to play some Magic, and with the timing, I suggested I could buy a Commander Legends booster and we'd split the cost and have a draft. They agreed, and so I was able to try a draft for the first time. Afterwards, I thought some people in the community might like a bit of info on how the draft went, since not many people were able to draft the set due to the pandemic.

Of 6 players, 4 played Partners. One of the others (a first-time player!) chose Araumi of the Dead Tide, and the 6th player chose Hamza, Guardian of Arashin. 2 of the Partner players played Rakdos pairings. The most valuable card pulled during the draft was Scroll Rack, with another notable pull in Rejuvenating Springs. Another friend who was unable to take part in the draft bought a single booster and pulled a Mana Drain. No sightings of Jeweled Lotus or any other especially high-value cards. I swear I saw Molder Beast get passed around like 6 times lmao.

During the game, I was able to play a Moss Diamond and cast Kodama on turn 5. On turn 6 I cast Kediss and attacked an opponent with no blockers using Kodama, powered up by Hero's Blade and Armory of Iroas, dealing 10 damage to all opponents. One of the Rakdos players, seeing that I could win in just 2 more turns with another boost to Kodama, attacked me with Sengir, the Dark Baron which by then had 20 +1/+1 counters on it. With no flyers to block, I took 24 commander damage and was eliminated.

While unimpressed with the number of high-value pulls from the box, I had a great time building and playing and was very happy with the overall outcome. Definitely worth the split cost.

The Mainboard is the deck I played in the draft. The Maybeboard cards are the remaining cards I drafted but did not add to the deck.
