Is this deck Pioneer Viable? Not sure considering how much the power level of pioneer has grown. However, I have made this deck with some not efficient playtesting and have tips to help you play this silly meme of a deck.
I got the idea because of Bant Eldrazi Tron in Modern, when people played Drowner of Hope for a bit and wished to replicate it. This deck is a budget deck, but the fun part is that the one thing you probably don't need to change is the Land Base!!! That's right... this deck has an affordable land base without all of the shocks and such, although you can put some in if you want. The main switch you'd probably want to make is the new Kozilek, Emrakul etc.
Anyways, onto the main deck things. We'll start with the lands. This deck contains a bit of basics, as well as some VERY IMPORTANT lands. Unclaimed Territory will allow you to pay for any color of mana while casting your eldrazis without taking damage. Corrupted Crossroads is VERY IMPORTANT as in addition to letting you add colored mana to cast your creatures, also allows you to use any type of mana to cast Colored Spells with devoid, such as Kozilek's Return. We have one copy of Yavimaya Coast, Llanowar Wastes and Shivan Reef to give us multiple colors of mana while ALSO allowing us to pay colorless for our spells, as we have quite a few of those. With this setup, you should have no problem searching for basics with Field of Ruin or if you get Assassin's Trophy'd.
Next, the creatures. The deck consists of 2 different types of creatures. Ramp and Finishers. Blisterpod, Catacomb Sifter and the one Eldrazi Skyspawner give you Eldrazi Scions that will help you ramp up to your big spells or create blockers, while Herald of Kozilek makes all of your spells cost one less due to devoid. Thought-Knot Seer is there for some hand disruption and works as a decent sized body. Now onto finishers. One of your best finishers is actually not your most expensive one, Reality Smasher. This card wins games by surprising your opponent out of nowhere, being hard to remove, and can easily be played on turn 4 with out rampers. Next are the bigger threats. Drowner of Hope gets better in this deck, as it allows our Eldrazi Scions to have purpose even if they did not get sacrificed and taps down your opponent's creature(s) leaving them open to swing in. Elder Deep-Fiend is a very good and scary card if you need to play a more control archetype. Sire of Stagnation allows you card advantage and punishes you opponent for playing land-heavy decks, although it's tough to get out and is more of a meta call. On the other hand, World Breaker is a utility removal spell that destroys artifacts, enchantments and lands alike, while also being a huge recurrable threat.
The side board is a bit random, and some of the cards can be replaced if the meta shifts, but for the most part, I wasn't 100% sure what to put in the sideboard. The "problem" with sideboarding in this deck is that we're limited to Colorless cards, Devoid included.
The more important cards I put in the sideboard are these:
Kozilek's Return: This is our key boardwipe. Once we have sacrificed all of our creatures and played our big threat, it is time to wipe the board against those pesky aggro decks. Dealing 2 damage should be enough, but if you play Elder Deep-Fiend, World Breaker or another eldrazi that costs 7 or more that you added into the deck for fun, you can deal 5 damage to every creature by exiling it from the yard. The best part is that you opponent will most likely not sideboard graveyard hate into the deck as we don't use our graveyard often
Crumble to Dust: A bit expensive, but it shuts down decks that are dependent on a non-basic land. Apparently, there's a Nykthos ramp deck going around, so this card will not only destroy it, but remove it from their deck and hand
Void Grafter: This card has a big butt and protects your other cards from dying, so it's a noteworthy inclusion
Other than that, the rest of the sideboard is to change your threats depending on the deck you're against.
Playtesting Data: I played against one or two different decks with this and will continue to update this side and deck, but for now, here are the changes:
Manabase: The deck only had one mountain and 21 lands. I decided to change the lands to 22 and add another mountain, as well as an Eldrazi Skyspawner. I noticed the deck sometimes struggled to get to four or even 5 mana, which is a good spot for it. In addition, even when I got Kozilek's Return in hand, I sometimes didn't have a red source to pay with, as Unclaimed Territory doesn't give red to our 2 main devoid sideboard spells, Kozilek's Return and Crumble to Dust.
