Replace Chromatic Star . Elvish Piper is more useful than drawing a card....

I dont think thats a good idea man, star/ sphere are key pieces of the deck.

Could you explain why the chromatics are so useful? Also, you might want to have Oblivion Stone , pretty good card...

I would drop red entirely, take the Pyroclasm out for Ancient Stirrings , and remove the Blightsteel Colossus for another copy of Emrakul. Maybe find a way to fit Mindslaver and Academy Ruins in?

Ancient Stirrings can find you a Karn or AID if you need it, and has the added ability of being a limited land tutor as well. Emrakul could have a second copy if you want to be able to say "Cast Emrakul, Go to extra turn, Attack with Emrakul, tutor Emrakul with Eye of Ugin , Cast Emrakul, both die and shuffle into my library, go to extra turn... Infinite loop?" If you really have issues with swarms of wee creatures, you can add an Ensnaring Bridge or two!

So, I'm no super tron expert, but there are a few things I would change about this...

About Quicksilver Amulet , it makes things a little bit easier, but this is tron, and you don't really need to cheat in creatures you already have a land base built to accelerate into. Throw them into the sideboard against control.

I think that this tron build has way too many lands when it comes to a deck that has 8 land tutors in it. I would remove the Eldrazi Temple s, as they don't really do as much as the tron lands do. I think the slots would be better filled with some Ancient Stirrings , which are just too awesome to forget about. Or you could consider Oblivion Stone , but it seems like this is more of a punch-in-the-face and you're dead strategy.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that Quicksilver Amulet doesn't let you activate the 'when you cast' triggers of the eldrazi lords, which is what is really awesome about them.

The only potential issues i see are the Stomping Ground and possibly the Eldrazi Temple. With this deck you really dont want to be taking any more damage than you have to be. Unfortunatly, the solution is Grove of the Burnwillows, and thats far from a budget option. Its better though, because you simply don't care about your opponents life. The beauty of G/r Tron is that it doesnt matter how much life your opponent gains. You will always have to the stronger late game. My only other suggestions is Ghost Quarter. Its great vs jund or the mirror match.

As for sideboard options, look at my tron decklist. Its a little unconventional, but the whole is concieved out of several good primers, and the sideboard is a normal tron sideboard

G/r Tron

Thanks elfsaine! Yes, the reason Im not running grove is just budget, and I think it will be in MM2 so im holding off til then. As for GQ, I could have swore I already had it in this list but i guess not. will update!

I use forge to play against interesting decks I find here. This deck made me have to change the side deck in my UW Control. First deck I've found on here that caused me any problems. Just wanted to let you know i love it and the way you built it is amazing. +1 from me

much thanks derickmoore25! how exactly did the playtesting go?

March 10, 2015 9:49 p.m.

derickmoore25 says... #16

it was very hard to beat because the computer kept searching and playing Emrakul, the Aeons Torn till i didn't have the mana to destroy it anymore. i added Mindbreak Trap to side deck since then I've had no more problems

Any reason for mainboard Grafdigger's Cage?

May 11, 2015 8:27 p.m.

ojmandias says... #20

All hail the Spaghetti Monster!

Greafdigger's Cage doesn't need to be mainboarded, and I would look into Ugin, the Spirit Dragon another Grove of the Burnwillows and replacing Artisan of Kozilek with Sundering Titan it absolutely wrecks tricolor decks.

Blightsteel Colossus is great but you may want to run a Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre or a Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger instead simply because you have eldrazi lands that'll make it several turns faster to play. They may not have infect, but the exile upon casting on the ceaseless hunger (as well as the mill) will really help with the modern pressure, as well as the annihilator on the infinite gyre should take the pressure off of you and place it on to them.

I know I run a G/R Tron and it's different than your deck style, but would you be willing to take a look at it and see if you have any thoughts to improve it? Karn, the Spirit Dragon

8vomit curious, why are you choosing to run Stomping Ground over Grove of the Burnwillows?

My guess is that they were expensive, but now they are cheap after Iconic Masters, think they're worth picking up now?

8vomit says... #24

@ Bovine073 thats exaclty the situation, i just havent gotten them yet. Burn or aggro are the only matchups where it makes a big difference. But definitely working on that one.

Why little ugin over little karn? also im wondering why run only one ulamog rather than 2 how is that working out for you. Also i noticed that you run ghost quarter instead of blast zone and was wondering why u made that choice.
