The brew focuses on cheating out Kaldra Compleat as quickly as possible to either win with it or equip it to Halvar for an 18-point swing with trample. There's a few different ways to pull off the Halvar Compleat combo in 3 turns, meaning opponents virtually have to have an answer by then. Halvar gets haste from Kaldra as well, meaning opponents need a very fast answer or it's lights out!

Thanks to the brew's many tutors and Valakut Awakening it can easily find a way to cheat out Kaldra - the only downside is that there's a pretty minimal plan B in case Compleat can't stick on the board. Oketra may seem a bit durdly, but it gives a bit more oomph to creature spells and can be pretty scary when equipped herself.

This is when I realized the power of Valakut Awakening in Colossal: a starting hand can be initially underwhelming, only for Awakening to pitch it all and dig a literal handful of new cards deep at instant speed. Awakening shines in decks like these where it can send cards like Compleat or Elbrus to the bottom of the deck while it digs for the cards that fetch them right back into the field!
