Major List Overhaul —March 16, 2019

With the coming of a whole pile of cards, and a whole lot of cuts, I've totally revamped this list for the coming of Flash Hulk and friends. Slimmed it down to an almost Naus curve, and added cards which are way more relevant in the modern metagame.

Primer Updates will follow soon.

Where can I contact the artist that did your alter? I would love something similar. Currently getting this awesome list together. Would you recommend a replacement for nether void? I currently don't own that one :/

Folize, if you look up Kevin Altered on facebook you can contact him through his facebook page. I assume that's the one you meant instead of all the other ones I have.

@Coinman1863 How do you feel about Gate to Phyrexia? I was considering using it in my Nath Stax. I wanted to get your opinion of the card. We can then chain it into Volrath's Stronghold to get said creature back off the sac outlet.

Hi Coinman1863, great deck! I'm really enjoying it so far. What do you think of replacing something with Awakening Zone/Reassembling Skeleton/Bloodghast? Or do you believe there are enough ways to produce bodies as it is?

Hi Coinman! Why are you not playing Leyline of the Void? Maybe because of your meta?

March 16, 2018 2:01 a.m.

Coinman1863 says... #9

Well, Lets get started.

SurpriZe, That more or less is excessive as only having a body exclusively as a creature meant for sacrificing feels really bad overall. The cards should be doing more than that anyway at least in a cEDH setting.

Manalito, partly because of the meta and partly because there isn't space for anything that fat. If you wanted a similar effect, Grafdigger's Cage would be better in the slot due to the CMC. Otherwise, many of the other stax pieces cover how the GY decks can win, they just don't hit the GY itself.

Hope this all helps!

Hi Coinman, yes it does! Thanks!

Just curious, why aren't you running a Crucible of Worlds? Wouldn't that be useful in this build, or do you consider it a dead card?

What is your stance on Arena of the Ancients?

I added it to my build for testing purposes lately. But so far I didn't see it into action. Perhaps its a metacall?

What are your thoughts on Damping Sphere that will be printed in Dominaria?

I gotta say I like this. I like it a lot. Im curious why you dont run cards like Smokestack though? Dosnt fit the theme? Or does it go against what you're attempting to set up?

Oh, and +1 for sure for the primer you wrote. Great job!

Is this deck mainly good in singles or multiplayer?

This is surely a very multiplayer effective deck.

Hey, love the deck. Lately I've been thinking a lot about stax. I've been brewing around Chainer as my CMDR, I just really enjoy pox'ing a table and also mindslicer'ing them as well. Naturally Nath has crossed my mind. How would you approach Nath at a more casual-competitive table? Where it's more common to see creature based decks or big Mana decks rather then turn 2-3 lists. Trinisphere for example, might miss more then hit but Sphere of Resistance is still viable. Would you focus more on board control or resources denial?

Have you played with Life from the Loam alongside Wasteland effects? Green provides great recursion for all those dredged cards as well.

Thanks a bunch for your insight!

Nice list!

I’m missing chains and few other cards but there is nothing like chains, what would you play instead?

Sup dude, it’s been awhile since we last talked. Hope you’re doing well. How’s twilight prophet in testing in? Seems slow and clunky but having a CA engine on a stick is always nice. You gonna try the new warrior bob?

June 2, 2018 3:04 p.m.

PartyJ says... #23

This new bob seems like an auto-include for Nath. Defenitely going to test it in my nath deck.

Mindblade Render made me smile when I saw it, I am going to have to steal that idea. Mind if I ask why you don't run Manglehorn, it has always felt like a show-in piece of stax in green, along with Root Maze and the like, also, why do you have 2 Demonic Tutors and 2 Damnations? I apologize If I just don't understand something.
