RiftRaft, Thanks! And yeah...

That happens sometimes. At least I don't have Mishra's Workshop right?

I keep seeing Trinisphere - how good is this card?

nmckay3, in competitive EDH very, very good. In a format where most spells cost less than 3 mana, making it cost 3 is absolutely backbreaking. It even affects Force of Will's alternate cost which makes it particularly potent.

Coinman, what's the best choice do you think to add more pressure for storm?

Currently running sphere, trinisphere, winter orb, thorn of amethyst, lodestone as ways to make things cost more. Maybe I need to mull more aggressively, obviously running discard but those seem a little too slow to have a significant impact by the time they typically go off.

Hermit7, I think the you need a few more speedy stax effects which restrict resources. Things like Tangle Wire, Winter Orb, and Null Rod help in that regard.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, yea I am running all of those but was thinking there might be something that I might be missing.

So my meta is full of Narset and blue control decks. I'm needing a blue-kill card somewhere in the 99. I'm considering Mind Slash, City of Solitude, or Choke. I think City of Solitude would be the most versatile and requires nothing else in order to work, as it prevents any other players from interacting with me while I cast Death Cloud. Thoughts?

Hi,

I read your cEDH 101 article, it's really good, very informative.I asked the question on Reddit if you thought Stax decks could be played in a multiplayer format and you stated that your Nath deck was made specifically for multiplayer. So, I was hoping you could offer some guidance and/or some suggestions on my Kambal deck when you had the chance. Any criticism would be helpful. Thx!

nmckay3, I'd say City of Solitude is your best bet as well. However, you just have to be aware that it enables to let your combo decks go off untouched. So maybe err towards Defense Grid instead?

Hope this helps!

Is the reason to run Dark Tutelage over Phyrexian Arena because of Chains of Mephistopheles or also the double black in the casting cost. I'm sorry to bother, but are there any other reasons?

Coinman1863 says... #12

Honorabl7, I use that card over arena exactly for the reason you said. It does not draw cards. I have many instanced of cards in my deck that prevent me from drawing cards or effect how I draw. So avoiding those effects completely helps my game a lot.

Hope this helps!

Can you make a 1v1 decklist?

May 14, 2017 4:21 p.m.

Hermit7 says... #15

@nmckay

I have a similar Nath list and if I were making it 1v1 I would cut some of the more expensive spells for thoughtseize/ inquisition for earlier interaction.

With a decent keep the deck is very good already at 1v1. Something like 2 lands, Ramp, draw and a stax or two is the ideal keep.

Why does no one play Infernal Darkness?

What's your reasoning for not running the Crucible/Life from the Loam/Wasteland package with things like Smokestack and Exploration? Do you not get to that sort of late game?

Great deck by the way. A real inspiration as to where I can take mine.

Do you also mind sharing how you use Pox in the deck? I find it a challenging card to use that has only really paid off a few times for me due to its symmetry.

Wow, time to answer all these questions, sorry for the wait.

Jagerbomb: I think it's meta dependent. In my current meta the enchantment removal of rec sage is way more important than the manglehorn Root Maze effect. But if it fits your meta well, I'd go for it, but that's why I myself don't play it.

nmckay3: I've been working on one and discovered what Hermit7 said. But with the most recent bannings I have not had a chance to test a list since I was traveling. But RN I haven't had much success with Nath in 1v1. It doesn't have enough creature removal and struggles against blue decks in the longevity game. Does really well against green decks though.

Snapdisastermage: In cEDH the cumulative upkeep cost is way to much to maintain as well is it is 4 mana.

Grumiio: I don't run those because in the current meta I play in, those cards are way too slow. That sort of late game loses too many slots for the early game which is where much of the positioning for the rest of the game happens. All of the fast decks will beat you, in a full cEDH meta, if you try to play those cards. In terms of Pox, I play it when I get out ahead when it resolves. It doesn't really matter if you have Nath out, you just have to be sure it ends in a positive result for you.

Hope this all helps!

So I get why you might not run Geth's Grimoire because you actively skip card draws and draw steps, but knowing this have you ever considered Words of Wilding or Words of Waste?

Also have you ever considered Library of Leng to lessen the impact of your self discard or even Liliana's Caress type cards to increase the impact of hand control on the opponent?

Cutting rec sage for caustic caterpillar gets around torpor orb.

Still have e wit for etb effects but it is a one drop and can blow up for the same activated cost.

And you're already running a ton of activated abilities that get shut off by cursed totem so the things that you want to prevent are already high enough priority to have played the totem.

Biggy599, I got it commissioned from a guy called KevinAltered in France. You can contact him on facebook under that name if you want a card done similarly.

Harogi, Doesn't Torpor Orb do the same thing but better?

Did you found anything interesting to test for your Nath deck in the recent months of releases that caught your eye?

Did you test Torment of Hailfire perhaps?
