Just like with all other burn decks, its tends to be fast enough that it doesn't matter against most decks, and against fast decks, like phoenix - which want to go through a lot of spells early game, it can be absurdly strong.

What is the purpose of Wooded Foothills ? You don't have any green or forests, so wouldn't a mountain be better?

- Xica is absolutely correct.
Hey. Wooded Foothills is the slightly budget alternative to Arid Mesa . The point is that instead of 7+ fetchlands, we only play 6x to deck-slim, for increasing our probability of drawing into damage spells, rather then lands. I hope this answers your question. I will be changing the deck a tad.

But why wouldn't you use a mountain? You have no use for anything green, so you're taking a damage for no reason.

The damage is irrelevant in the long run, as in theory - burn is the one dealing damage. The real payoff for running fetch lands and taking that 1 damage (when used) is to eliminate land cards in the deck. If that is done, then our probability for drawing into actual damage cards increases, as well as our chance for better top decks.
In MTG, life is a resource and somtetomes the cards that have text on them requesting life for an ability - are worth the damage, as the reward is much greater in the end. Some examples would be:
Fortunately, some amount of fetches just happen to work well with Burn and what it is aiming to achieve.

cplvela0811: the deck thinning effect of a fetchland is so small its negligible.
DragonChampions: Wooded Foothills can grab a Blood Crypt or Sacred Foundry , making it a potential source of black or white mana, not only red or green. hence why its better than a mountain. additionally, fetchlands put cards in the grave so that they can later be used for the effect of Grim Lavamancer .

Genuine question, how do you play eidolon of the great revel? Due to the nature of your deck can’t it backfire?
