Aegis of the Gods protects you against "target opponent" spells and hard burn. Like Foul-Tongue Invocation

After alot of deck testing, Anger of the Gods is its kryptonite. The biggest problem is that it exiles your creatures. Sideboard in the additional Center Soul and play it less aggressive. Rememeber that anger takes 2 red Mana. Keep in mind, when you get to Obelisk of Urd alot of your creatures are able to live like Arashin Cleric and Knight of the White Orchid. Just be alot more careful.

A keepable hand has a 1 drop, a 2 drop and 2 lands. You can risk it for the biscuit and keep a 1 land hand if you have a Kytheon or a couple pantheons. Let the deck draw well for you after that. Kytheon-Gideon turn 4 is amazing. You can +2 Gideon so that his creatures die to first strike damage that most of your cards have, or simply he tanks a shot so you can push through the line next turn. After that, his 0 is very strong. There's alot of removal in this format so you're garunteed to get maximum value out of Return to the Ranks and your protection spells. Don't forget that protection spells either make a creature that's blocking unable to take damage or an attacking creature unblockable if they only control the color you specify.
