MANA SOURCES:

Artifacts-

Pristine Talisman- The 1 life is pretty useful every time it's tapped, especially when tapped for Throne of Empires, untapped with a Voltaic Key, then tapped for Throne again (provided I can untap the Throne again). +2 life and 10 soldiers!

Everflowing Chalice- Really great to kick when I have a good amount of Locus lands on the field. Provides a good source of colorless mana.

Lands-

Seat of the Synod - Taps for blue, but the best thing is that it counts as artifact so it will untap during my opponents turn if I have Unwinding Clock, providing extra mana for counterspells or for tapping Empire pieces during my opponents turn!

Cloudpost- My favorite land in the deck, can generate tons of mana with the other locus lands.

Glimmerpost - Extra life gain and another locus land.

Vesuva- Can copy a Cloudpost, providing another locus.

Buried Ruin- Gets me artifacts back if they're destroyed.

Academy Ruins- Better version of Buried Ruin.

CREATURES:

Fog Bank- Provides early defense until I can acquire the cards I need.

Karn, Silver Golem- Animates my artifacts if necessary and is a good blocker.

Colossus of Akros- Absolutely loved this card when I first saw it! Sure it has a high cost, but it's not THAT bad with the locus lands! When monstrous, its pretty scary. Yeah, I know dies to exile, but whatever, I love it. Can even be searched with Fabricate.Even provides flavor to the 'empire' theme since I imagine him as a massive guardian on the edges of the empires realm or capital.

OTHERS:

Unwinding Clock, Voltaic Key- Help untap my artifacts.

Dissolve, Rune Snag, Vapor Snag- Counters and bounces. Scry from Dissolve helps see the future a bit, increasing costs for Rune Snag is pretty fun (for me!), and Vapor Snag does damage to my opponent and bounces a creature.

Rhystic Study- Another way to slow down my opponent along with my bounce spells and counter spells, while helping me draw more cards. Even if they don't pay if they REALLY want to get that certain creature out, I might just draw another spell to send it right back next turn...

Foresee - Scry 4 then draw 2. Pretty nice!

Fabricate- Next to the Empire artifacts and Colossus of Akros, this is one of the main cards in the deck for obvious reasons.

Tezzeret the Seeker - Great for untapping my artifacts and tutoring pieces or other artifacts.
