Moltensteel Dragon + Scion of the Ur-Dragon + Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon form a one shot kill combo.

I like what you are doing here. Scion is a very cool commander!
I have spent a lot of time on my scion deck and it is very good. take a look for some ideas. I have a very detailed description as to why I included most cards and why I did not include others. The best combo you could have in a scion deck is Credit Voucher + Keen Sense + Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind , this can end the game very fast. it is described in detail on my deck.
The deck is called How to train yo-Ur-Dragon take a look if you want.

Removing Temple of the False God seams like a mistake to me. Can I ask for the reason for the removal?
April 11, 2015 7:32 p.m.
Oh, and you have 101 cards, look like you need to make a cut.
April 11, 2015 7:37 p.m.
kidkaor I favored colored mana over colorless, the colorless lands I have all have utility. I'm also only counting 100 cards
April 11, 2015 7:49 p.m.
Oh, you have Scion of the Ur-Dragon in your deck list. That makes tappedout count it twice for your card number. Probably a good idea to take that out.

How about for Mana Fixing/ramp Gemstone Mine, Crystal Quarry, Chromatic Lantern, Prismatic Omen, Exploration, Mirari's Wake, Mana Flare and Gilded Lotus. All of these help get you where you need to go (Mana wise) and help you get there faster.
And if you want to look at another 5 color deck for mana fixing/ make it faster mine has have examples of both to look at. All the Things

Its a solid first try, you've got the right idea. I'd recomend swaping around the dragons quite a bit though. You can chain Ur-Dragon's ability to himself, so use it once to select a powerful dragon, then again and go for a dragon that can give buffs, like moltensteel. The 2nd use will resolve first, then you can use moltensteels ability to give himself a big buff. Then the first use will resolve and Ur-Dragon will become the first dragon you targeted, but the buff will carry over. You can get a lot of kills off of using that trick.
I'd also look for and run all dragon that are hexproof, and any that have decent effects when they die.
there are also a lot of other artifacts that produce coloured mana, such as Chromatic Lantern.
April 12, 2015 10:34 a.m.
Chromanticore is funny, even though he's not a dragon.
April 12, 2015 10:54 a.m.
Coinman1863 some of those are on my to get list, most notably Crystal Quarry and Chromatic Lantern, the rest sound awesome. You're actually missing Coalition Relic, which also seems powerful.
succeeddamnyou I already have both hexproof dragons, Silumgar, the Drifting Death and Belltoll Dragon. I'm aware of the double change, and I'm sure my dragon lineup will shift around as I continue to tweak things.
I don't have either Chromanticore or Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker, though the former does sound hilarious in this deck.

As a fellow dragon player i suggest that you take a look for ideas at how i made my scion deck. cards to note for putting in here are fist of suns, karrthus, keiga, and elvish piper. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/scion-of-the-ur-dragon-snody/
April 16, 2015 6 p.m.
Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund proved more of a liability than a help, as taking control of him is almost an instakill for me. I don't have Keiga, the Tide Star and Elvish Piper is a bit out of my budget. I found the Fist of Suns, how often is it useful? it seems marginal at best, since it's harder to get 5 colors of mana than 6 or 7 mana.

It is really useful because you can cast your commander for 5 mana even after it has benn killed 20 times with the Fist of Suns. Also it really helps you play anything over 5 mana cause by the time you get to turn five you should be able to play your commander. And if you can play your commander, you can play anything for only 5 mana.

Oh, very interesting! I hadn't thought about it overriding the commander tax. Thanks Coinman1863 & Snody!

Personally I use Fist of Suns to cast Progenitus turn 5 in my 5-color deck. Also I just noticed, that you did not have a Mirari's Wake. One of the best ramp cards ever which also acts as an anthem for all your dragons too.
April 17, 2015 10:55 a.m.
That is not how the commander tax works...
it is not a cost added to the mana cost to cast your commander spell, it is an "additional cost" much like a kicker cost or an "as an additional cost to cast ____ sacrifice a land". here is an article that confirms this:
http://blogs.magicjudges.org/rulestips/2012/09/how-the-commander-tax-works-in-edhcommander/
I also second Mirari's Wake it kick butt.

Oh ok I didn't know that, but I can still cast Progenitus for 5 off of the fist, correct Zer0w?
April 17, 2015 12:50 p.m.
I'm working on Mirari's Wake and good to know. I'm thinking Fist of Suns might not be right in that case. I'm working on getting a Quicksilver Amulet though

I haven't played Scion before, but here are my 2 cents:
The Ravnica signet cycle like Gruul Signet and Azorius Signet plus the talisman cycle, such as Talisman of Impulse would be great additions as ramp and color fixing.
Some awesome dragons I see you don't have included are Worldgorger Dragon Balefire Dragon Moltensteel Dragon Scourge of Kher Ridges Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon Yosei, the Morning Star .
A backup Scion could be Feldon of the Third Path and a great way to dump dragons into the yard for scion's ability is effects like Putrid Imp .
Maybe cut down lands by two or three and some of the ramp to make room for signets and talismans for faster dragon-ing. Spells like Reanimate and Animate Dead are great for cheating dragons into play or bringing them back.
Like I said, I haven't played Scion or really five color, but this list seems like some good inspiration: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/scion-king-of-edh/

Crucible of Fire, City of Brass, when it cycles out of standard Mana Confluence should drop in price, Urza's Incubator, although a bit pricy,Teneb, the Harvester, Vorosh, the Hunter, Steel Hellkite, and Patriarch's Bidding, also pricey, are all cards i'd recommend getting.
