Raiding graves like Lara Croft. I love me some graveyard shenanigans.

Early creatures that can sacrifice themselves gets the experience started. Catacomb Sifter and From Beyond are great enablers. It's important to get miles out of a land tutor such as Sakura-Tribe Elder by reanimating it repeatedly, Solemn Simulacrum is also a great choice for this. Heart Warden and Yavimaya Elder sacrifice themselves for a card making them perfect fits. With the mana in place, things like Sidisi, Undead Vizier, Rune-Scarred Demon, or Birthing Pod help find the big pieces. Butcher of Malakir is a headache on any table, I also run Grave Pact and Dictate of Erebos since it's an important effect for the deck. Grim Haruspex and Harvester of Souls provide excellent card advantage to keep the grave train rolling. I run Darksteel Plate, Lightning Greaves, and Sylvan Safekeeper to protect Meren and keep the engine chugging along.
