If you're going for a white removal strategy, I would recommend Avacyn, Angel of Hope as your commander since she allows you to wipe the board but keep all your permanents.

I would also consider more "Commander" type cards in this deck such as Commander's Sphere, Caged Sun, Sol Ring etc.

Love the angel's theme though!

I definitely have thought to make Avacyn my commander, but I guess I just feel she is expensive for a Commander. But you are right, I do need a way to protect myself from the board wipes. Caged Sun would be a great way to mana ramp.

Thanks for the suggestions! I haven't bought this deck yet so I am welcome to any help.

Those are great suggestions! Thank you! I just added Iona, Shield of Emeria and False Prophet to boost my creatures.

Magus of the Moat can really kill it in decks like these. Check out my angel themed EDH deck Avacyn and her Heavenly Army

Oh that would be a perfect card for this deck! Thank you for the suggestion!

Get rid of:Odric is not really beneficial unless Akroma is in play.
Sunscorch Regent is less life-gain than other angel options, like archangel of thuneFalse prophet should be moved to the sideboard.Armageddon is useful in very few situations, so sideboard it

Many things in the maybeboard should be put into the mainboard, but also get:Sublime Archangel to get exalted creatures.
Door of Destinies make angels bigger

Great deck idea!

I'm going to keep Odric in there because if he is out in play, all of my creatures will benefit from me casting say Ajani's Presence as they gain indestructible until end of turn. If I play Wrath of God, I can protect my creatures just by playing one instant.

As for the others, I will consider it if I have some cheap alternatives! I am trying to not by any cards that cost more than $5. I will try to get Door of Destinies but at this time even Sublime Archangel is a bit expensive for me.

Thanks for the help! I always appreciate it!

I put some new cards in my sideboard that I want to try out. I got Humble, Blind Obedience, Luminate Primordial, and Martial Law.

I am continuing to love this deck and how it just pwns anything on the field.

I dig this deck a lot! Looks super solid to play. +1!

I recently acquired Story Circle and Reverse the Sands. I loved that Story Circle jives really well with my commander, and Reverse the Sands is a good fail safe if I am losing badly late in the game. However because it costs so much to cast, I may keep it on the sideboard.

Two angels to consider:

First is Karmic Guide. This recursion costs less than Emeria Shepherd and for a turn says I have a pro-black flyer. But I'm not saying replace your shepherd: use them in concert. Use Emeria Shepherd to bring back Karmic Guide to bring back anything else. All for the price of one plains landfall, and this can be done each turn

The second is Twilight Shepherd. Mono-white has board wipes and you shouldn't be afraid to use them. One trick is Avacyn, but another is this shepherd. Cast this before or after you Wrath of God (or any similar card) and you won't lose anything.

I actually had Karmic Guide in the deck but cut him because of the echo cost...but in concert with Shepherd, it may be worth it again.

I had not considered Twilight Shepherd! That is a pretty cool card with all the board wipes in this deck. And it is budget friendly which is nice.

Thanks for the suggestions and the upvote!

It's a bit pricey, but Luminarch Ascension is a great source of angel tokens, especially if you can drop it early before anyone has any way to attack reliably. Always love decks that have room for more of the riskier but fun cards like Endless Horizons and False Prophet. +1 from me

Honestly I had considered Luminarch when I was building the deck, but was trying to keep costs low. But I will definitely be on the lookout for one if I can get it cheap.

The deck may not be competitive, but like you said, it is fun to play! Thanks for the upvote and the suggestion!

I'd recommend some card draw. Aside from Endless Horizons (which is very nice) there's no way to accelerate your hand. White has very few options, Oblation and Survival Cache work but you need something more repetitive like Diviner's Wand or another artifact. Not sure the best options. Skullclamp is there as is Infiltration Lens.

Yeah I know what you mean...I have had problems in the past with not having a hand late in the game with no way to draw what I need. I do like Skullclamp and Infiltration Lens though! I have also thought of Sensei's Divining Top, its just an expensive card to buy.

Thanks for the comments though! I will look into some other card draws for white/artifacts and try to fit them in.

I shared my deck with you. If it didn't work, reply and I will try again.I run a similar deck and wanted to share my ideas while I take yours for consideration. :)

I don't think it worked but if you want to attach a deck link to your comment I can use that! I am always looking for ideas and appreciate any insight!

Last night I played a mono-blue deck that beat this to pieces. Not with creatures but with card draw. Basically, he played Sphinx's Tutelage and in 3 turns, my entire library was in my graveyard... Aside from changing this to a multi-color deck, anyone have any ideas on how to actually stop forced card draw?

Well White has plenty of Enchantment removals like Disenchant. But like with any commander game a lot of it comes down to how the cards draw out unless you tutor with Enlightened Tutor. You could add either Kozilek, Butcher of Truth or Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre as anti-mill options.

Spirit of the Labyrinth and some kind of tutor maybe? Ring of Three Wishes

November 14, 2016 8:36 p.m.

StumpyIB says... #23

I do have two enchantment removals already in Akroma's Vengeance and Paraselene but I guess I could use a few more! I like Spirit of the Labyrinth, but I guess like you guys said it will ultimately come down to if I can tutor something during my turn. I suppose throwing in some additional artifacts or colorless cards will also help.

Admittedly, this is the first time I have ever been milled down in a game (I play just a small group of people) but now that that guy knows it works on us, I suppose he will start making more decks based on it!

Soltari Visionary can destroy enchantments but if you're afraid of Sphinx's Tutelage note that it requires a target. Aegis of the Gods, Orbs of Warding, Witchbane Orb or Ivory Mask gives YOU hexproof (there is another white enchantment designed for 2 headed giant that does the same thing but i forgot the name).

Beloved Chaplain or Commander Eesha are sweet defenders but damn they kick in HARD with Concerted Effort or Burning Sands

November 17, 2016 1:39 p.m.

StumpyIB says... #25

You know I hadn't thought about that! I do have Ivory Mask in there, it just got sent to my graveyard during one of the bouts of forced drawing. I might add in Orbs of Warding or Aegis to help counter that.

I hadn't seen those two cards before! I will definitely look into getting them for this deck.

Thanks!
