Hey zatz,
Thanks for commenting on the page. I'm honored that you based your beloved Sliver deck off of my design. Currently, i'm trying to push it toward a more competitive posture so that may mean less and less Slivers. With the removal of the lifelink and "triggered lifelink" Slivers I slotted in more spells that can deny opponents their important (and hopefully) game winning pieces. If you're trying to do the same, then i'll keep that in mind when I give your deck a once over.

Hopefully a quick question - apart from the obvious use of granting your slivers first strike, is there another interaction that warrants Striking Sliver being in here? Perhaps to be a deterrent alongside Venom Sliver?
November 12, 2018 3:10 p.m.
Hey Forkbeard,
Is there another interaction that warrants Striking Sliver being in here?
Outside of it's great synergy with Venom Sliver, Striking is nice to play when Dormant, Basal (Striking is usually one of the first Slivers I sac for the ), Gemhide or Harmonic Sliver is on the battlefield. Even better, is when you're trying to go off with Mana Echoes or Paradox Engine. I guess what i'm trying to get at is that Striking fills a gap, a need when you want a drop to get value.

LVL_666 and Forkbeard, totally agree with what you are saying. As far as being a turn 1 play, it's excellent and can easily be sacked later on if needed. Venom Sliver turn 2 and you have a really awkward blocker very early on. And LVL_666, the changes have started to be made to my own hive. Slivers will take over the world soon enough

What do you think about Misdirection? I know you aren't running it, is it not included because there are better options, or you don't think it works out that well. It can be better than a straight counter in certain situations if someone is removing one of your key pieces, but it's limiting as well. I recently shifted my deck to include counters, and its a card I've been kicking around. Since your deck is much more established being more control, I thought I would get your take on it.

Hey Seventy7INa45,
What do you think about Misdirection?
In my meta I witnessed a player target another player's Time Warp then immediately play a Reverberate right afterward. I think Misdirection can be as degenerate or more than a Mana Drain under the right conditions. It's an amazing spell if your deck has a lot of spell interaction and uses it as a primary strategy. My deck wouldn't include Misdirection because it doesn't really have much spell interaction outside of counterspells.

Hey there Lvl_666. I think your deck is incredibly sweet and you have done one hell of a job on this writeup. While I don't necessarily have any suggestions at the time(other than maybe Teferi's Protection), I did want to stop by and link to Johannes Voss Sliver token you can get on Patreon before the end of the month. Seeing it has reinvigorated me to make my Sliver deck! Sliver Token

Hey Nephs,
Many thanks for your comment. I love the Sliver tokens. So much so that I now play Brood Sliver every chance I get. I've only got one copy of Teferi's Protection and it's in my Dino deck. I'll give it a try in this deck at some point. Good suggestion though. Thanks again for commenting!

Hey have you considered adding Wilderness Reclamation ? Maybe 4cmc is too much still but it's a pretty useful effect.
February 9, 2019 8:18 p.m.
Hey again. I hate to do it, but I'm looking for some input on my own sliver deck, not nearly as competitive! http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/29-10-18-for-the-hive/?cb=1549787559

Hey everyone,
Sorry for the radio silence, but life has been busy. I paid of my own personal mana to my Wife - the True Sliver Queen, and soon my 1/1 Sliver baby boy token will be ready. Gotta pay respect to the real queen, as she inspired me to assemble the Queen's Egg. Now, for some overdue responses:
-
_Delta_, Wilderness Reclamation did catch my eye. for half of a Seedborn Muse isn't all that bad. The best part is that I can tap out and use the interaction I've been saving in my hand. Honestly, the verdict is out on this one. I wish it was attached to a Sliver body - then it'd be a no brainer but i'm hesitant to include it. What would cut from the deck to make room?
-
Nephs, i'll definitely get to your page and give you my 2 cents. What kind of power level are you aiming for? I use this video as a frame of reference for all of my decks, and as a means of communicating what kind of game my play group is going for. As a frame of reference, I would consider The Queen's Egg to be Optimized.

Vlasiax, Rhythm of the Wild is awesome. Definitely one of the best cards printed in the new Ravinca set. I don't think it fits in this deck though, that card promotes a more aggro playstyle - and this deck is midrange with plenty of interaction. Sure, I want to attack more and the counter protection is wonderful - but it's not what the deck would need. I'd prefer some form of ramp and counter protection effect. Of course, it would be ideal if this was on a Sliver body. Good suggestion though, but I think this would be more at home in a deck with Sliver Legion or Sliver Hivelord at the helm.

Hey LVL_666, its been a while and I hope you're doing fine.
I wonder what are your thoughts on Frenetic Sliver , my meta can be wipe heavy sometimes.
I think it could be a great add in case you don't have a counter in hand or against an uncounterable wipe.
Never thought about it before today, havent played my slivers for a while.
Have a good day!

@LVL_666 congrats on the hive expansion man. Hope you and your queen are doing well.

Vlasiax, thanks for the comments. There's a bit to unpack here, so i'll address each suggestion in a bullet point:
-
Kindred Discovery was previously considered here, but your assessment of too high of a CMC was the limiting factor. I wish it was on a Sliver body, then I could justify trying to work it in somehow. Previously I did try working with Synapse Sliver , but it just wasn't that good. A "Kindred Sliver" (but at CMC , and power/toughness 1/1) would be an excellent inclusion though. What would you cut for this hypothetical Sliver?
-
Dovin's Veto does have my curiosity, but not my attention. It is a great counterspell, worth experimenting with - but I wouldn't call it strictly better. Color restriction can become an issue at times. I'm definitely going to experiment with it as it is a very strong counterspell.

LVL_666 and other Sliver fans, pls take a look at the following link. While we wait for 2023... I wanted to make into Slivers some of the fun commander/multiplayer MTG effects.

Mythwind, thanks for commenting on the page, i'll definitely check out that decklink - why not use tappedout though? There's plenty of options for creating a forums post - just sayin'. But keeping in line with that previously hypothetical sliver - I realize the CMC was too low for something of that power level. Instead i'd opt for
- Name: Kindred Sliver
- CMC:
- Rules: Whenever a Sliver you control enters the battlefield or attacks, draw a card.
- Power/Toughness: 1/1
I feel like that's fairly balanced. But my true dream sliver is this darling:
- Name: Void Sliver
- CMC:
- Rules: All slivers gain , sacrifice a Sliver: counter target non-creature spell.
- Power/Toughness: 2/2
That's a Sliver i'd love to see in 2023.

Hey Vlasiax, thanks for bringing up Despark . This card has my curiosity, but upon closer inspection seems less useful than Anguished Unmaking . When playing against stax/high powered permanents ( Winter Orb , Blood Moon , Back to Basics , Food Chain etc.), or commanders that are low cmc but high in power (Najeela, Blade-Blossom) Despark just falls short. To answer your question - it shouldn't be played alongside Anguished Unmaking , and cannot replace it - unless you are in a limited or casual meta/format.

LVL_666 ..."why not use tappedout though? There's plenty of options for creating a forums post - just sayin'"...
How do you access and create custom cards in tappedout for others to see? There are fewer Sliver fans in magicseteditor...
I would like comments from true Sliver fans on the card creations...

Hey Mythwind,
"How do you access and create custom cards in tappedout for others to see?"
That functionality isn't native to Tappedout per se, but you can go to https://mtgcardsmith.com/ and create a card. Here's an example (and my absolute dream sliver):
You just use the image tool in the comment block, all you need to do is just host your custom created sliver card on an image hosting service. You also have the alternate option of using the "custom card" option at the very end of the comment tool block.

Hey Mythwind,
Full disclosure - I made a boo boo with the wording of my previous "dream sliver". This one is the real deal:
May 14, 2019 3:07 p.m.
Nice! A bit odd to have as a 3/2 and not a symmetric 2/2... but agree that countering spells is probably one of the most competitive things Slivers need. Though on my design I added a discard for the effect to make sure a large board does not give you too much of an advantage.
While we wait for years for new Slivers y have been trying to design slivers in all color combinations including colorless as a "6th" color ... I even tried to make cycles...
May 18, 2019 11:45 a.m.
Hey Mythwind,
I actually found a forum where you can submit custom cards and fellow tappedout users can (and actually will) weigh in on design choices. Check out the custom cards forum. I submitted my "dream sliver" to the previously mentioned forum (link here), and came up with the following adjustments (freezameme.mov ):
The tappedout community is downright awesome, and there are plenty of people here who want to engage with you and discuss card design. Check out that forum, and post your ideas there. Or here, i'll always rap with anyone about Sliver design.

Hello,
I found your deck when trying to find some inspiration on making a Sliver deck. I used to play Slivers in high school, and recently just got back into the game. I built myself a deck based off stuff I had in my old Sliver deck, plus some extra cards I have. If you'd like you can take a look at it, I'd like to know what you think. I know it can probably use some improvements haha.
