Commander: foil Sliver Overlord

Maybeboard

The Sliver Overlord is the ultimate manifestation of the hive mind, created in a strange sequence of events in 4306 Argivian Reckoning. The Riptide Project recreated slivers after their extinction during the Apocalypse, but the Riptide wizards were unaware of the importance of the Sliver Queen and thus did not recreate her. In her absence the slivers went rampant and overran the Riptide island. At the same time the Mirari was wreaking havoc all over Otaria. The magical waves it produced accelerated the slivers' growth, but also lured them onto the mainland since they confused its call with that of their deceased queen. The majority of the slivers were thus present during the battle at Averru and were killed in the magical explosion that created Karona. A small group of slivers survived however, and fused into the Sliver Overlord.

Some fun little interactions that could or have been included in the deck at some point:

Sliver Overlord + Amoeboid Changeling: Steal your opponents creatures by turning them into slivers (only works if Crystalline Sliver isn't on the board). This would also work with Unnatural Selection, but I prefer Amoeboid Changeling for its tutorability with Sliver Overlord. Also Unnatural Selection is just a dead card with Crystalline Sliver on the board whereas Amoeboid Changeling still profits from all the sliver buffs.

Sliver Queen *oversized* + Mana Echoes: Infinite slivers and colorless mana. Add in Sliver Overlord or Dormant Sliver to tutor/draw as many cards as you like.

Virulent Sliver + Bonescythe Sliver: Poison people real fast.

Hunter Sliver + Two-Headed Sliver: Provoke one creature and a second one (of your opponent's choice) has to block. The second one even has to block if it has shroud/hexproof, since it is not targeted as such. Instead it has to block such that both the requirement set up by Hunter Sliver and the restriction set up by Two-Headed Sliver are met (compare rule 500.4).

Venom Sliver + Thorncaster Sliver: Kill opposing creatures with one shot, before you even start dealing combat damage and before your opponents have a chance to declare blockers.

Sliver Hivelord + Wrath of God or any other similar effect: Cheaper than usual one sided board wipe. I guess one could alternatively just use Harsh Mercy, although that would leave every opponent with their best creature(s).

Syphon Sliver + Essence Sliver: Gain twice as much life. Since Essence Sliver's ability is a triggered ability, rather than a static ability like lifelink, it stacks, or, as in this case, simply adds itself to the lifegain achieved by lifelink. Since Essence Sliver seems to be simply worse than Syphon Sliver though, that effect is probably better achieved by simply dealing more damage via Bonescythe Sliver or by buffing your slivers.
