Tuned for better consistency and control
((For most competitive run, remove 4x Ring of Three Wishes for 3x
Volcanic Geyser
. -1 Blind Obedience, -1 Vorel of the Hull Clade, -1
Fleetfeather Sandals
, -1 Bow of Nylea, -1 Elite Arcanist, -1 Ranger's Guile. Add 4x
Fog
, 2x Urban Evolution/Sphinx's Revelation. This then becomes a direct burn deck using the infinite mana. To complete the loop, you need 2x Kiora's Follower, 1x Nylea's Presence, 1x Illusionist's Bracers, 1x
Volcanic Geyser
. On second turn, if they arent as fast of a deck, hold onto Savage Summoning, Kiora's Follower,
Volcanic Geyser
, and illusionist's bracer until you see them tapped out or close to it and then cast your Kiora's Follower on their end phase. Essentially you have to play a little chicken with them. Makes the game I play tested with a buddy quite interesting in the anticipation. Because mana isnt as needed for the low mana cost of this style, you can even try removing 2-4 mana for even more draw cards such as Divination or Quicken. All you need for the combo is 2 lands out.))
Please see and upvote Trolltacular "Never Gunna Happen" Combo Deck by logician for the full deck! My addition of consistency through protection and control and low CMC helps to speed deck along. Ive added 16 cards to help deal with removal instants (not including sideboard), so even things like
Thoughseize
or burn matchups will be harder to pull off for opponent. Sideboard is to help for control matchups as well as to counter things like Pithing Needle,
Revoke Existence
, Drown in Sorrow, Bile Blight, Supreme Verdict, and an alternate wincon through
Mistcutter Hydra
+Rogue's Passage.
Also, since I've kept all but 1 card needed for primary wincon in Blue-Green mana cost (with 4x mana corrector + card draw of Nylea's Presence), so getting the combos you need isnt expensive or as difficult to draw. Sideboard of
Retraction Helix
and Cyclonic Rift combined with Simic Charm then give us help against aggro creature decks and the first two help against Pithing Needle.
From the original deck I've added the following description. Original is in Bold and Italics, my addition of primary wincon is in regular font after.
Skip this paragraph if you already understand how this loop works with Kiora's Follower and Illusionist's Bracers[[ . [[Kiora's Follower number 1 is equipped with Illusionist's Bracers . Kiora's Follower number 2 just by itself. You also need one land in play at the very least. Tap your land for mana. Use Kiora #1 to untap it. Then use Kiora #2 to untap Kiora #1, you get to copy that ability because of Illusionist's Bracers , so untap the land too. Then tap the land for mana, Tap Kiora #2 to untap Kiora #1. Tap Kiora #1 to untap the land and Kiora #2. Rinse and Repeat. You can replace the land that you're untaping with any other permanent to infinitely untap that permanent.
To begin your wild adventure as a hardcore troll, you must use your infinite mana to play Ring of Three Wishes . Now there are definitely much better ways to win with infinite mana, but this is the troll way that people will remember you for. So now you have Ring of Three Wishes in play with infinite mana and the ability to untap Ring of Three Wishes infinitely. The first thing you need to tutor is a Vorel of the Hull Clade . Untap Ring of Three Wishes and then (because you still have infinite mana), tutor a
Fleetfeather Sandals
. Now use your infinite mana to play Vorel and equip him with the Sandals so that he has haste. Use Vorel infinitely tapping and untapping him with your infinite mana to put infinite counters on Ring of Three Wishes .
Primary wincon is through achieving the above and then doing the following;
Search for the following cards; Nylea's Presence (if you havent gotten one already), Blind Obedience, Elite Arcanist, ((any instant that can target yourself)), and an optional Rogue's Passage.
Cast Nylea's Presence. This allows us to untap and tap for any mana we want, so now use the loop to create infinite mana of blue, green, and white.
Spend white mana to cast Blind Obedience.
Spend blue mana to cast Elite Arcanist and exile instant with him ((in this case I will be using Simic Charm to also create optional wincon))
Equip
Fleetfeather Sandals
from Vorel to Elite Arcanist.
Now tap and untap to repeatedly cast Simic Charm's first aspect 19x on any creature out. After each Simic Charm, pay the extort cost of Blind Obedience to chip away their life total to 1. Go all the way if you want to win this way.
The optional is to cast rogue's passge, and then pay 4 mana and untap it and repeat 2 more times to make your creature you have been pumping and two others unblockable. Then swing away. The reason I make 3 creatures unblockable is juuuuuust for in case they have two
Celestial Flare
. It would also be good to hold onto a
Dispel
for
Fog
type annoyances.
An alternate way of playing the deck is to replace Blind Obedience with another Bow of Nylea for slight improved consistency against removal (by re-adding used/destroyed cards to deck) and add a
Vraska the Unseen
to replace Elite Arcanist. So essentially we use infinite untap/tap of Vorel of the Hull Clade to pump Vraska to her ultimate. And then using Rogue's Passage we make one of the tokens ublockable while giving them
Fleetfeather Sandals
to swing same turn. Because it is always frustrating to lose the game when you only took a single point of damage.
