Magic the Gathering is fun - when you're the only one playing it.

This is a $50 budget deck based on TCG low prices for a local tournament series that I am competing in. Please let me know if there are any good alternatives that I can utilize for this deck.

The basis of the deck is to play the long game. Put lands down, counter the important stuff your opponents have going on, and in general be a step ahead of everyone else. This deck features counter-heavy magic to counter the big, and small, things that you don't want to see on the board. The majority of the spells here are meant to synergize with Grand Arbiter, as he removes a small cost from each spell that is cast. Thus, counter magic in this deck is often brought down to three or less mana.

However, the deck does not necessarily need Grand Arbiter to be alive. Board wipes are placed sporadically throughout the deck to "mow the lawn" whenever the grass gets too high.

The wincons are to drag the game out for a while, countering the important stuff that your opponents will play. That's really all there is to it. Additional wincons feature Approach of the Second Sun and Azor's Elocutors.

Note I hate when people label their decks control, and then they don't actually control this field. This will seek to do just that, with a little bit of Chemical X added in.
