Competitive: Anje EDH Primer

This is my very first primer so any tips to make it better is appreciated, and any card recommendations are always appreciated!

This is a combo/control deck this deck controls the early game with your opponents being forced to discard with cards like Necrogen Mists , Oppression , Bottomless Pit , as well as the many board wipes in the list, the early game revolves around stopping your opponents game plan early and expending their resources, using the opening to go off and combo off still with protection just in case.

Why Anje???

Anje is a value engine in herself in which you can keep on discard cards into her to get a card each turn, or even more if you discard madness cards into her, another important thing about her is she has haste so you can even use her the turn she comes into play.

I recommend this playing this deck if you:

  • Love combo decks
  • Love control decks
  • Love shutting down your opponents early game
  • Love winning out of nowhere
You will not enjoy this deck if you:
  • Hate infinite combos
  • Hate playing control
  • Hate having to be the responsible player

This deck overall can play the grindy matches and has the gas to keep it going, while still punishing your opponents at the same time. Once your opponents have used a good portion of their resources or are tapped out and you see an opening while still with any protection in hand it is best to go off.

Wincons

Bloodchief Ascension + Mindcrank this is more so for the grindier games and when you get Bloodchief early on, Bloodchief and Mindcrank usually mills your opponent's whole deck and drains them for two for each card milled by Mindcrank, both card trigger each other so whenever a card hits your opponent's grave regardless they will be caught in the loop and will lose the game.

An old but gold combo is Worldgorger plus any of the the above enchantments which result in infinite flickers now what do you do with the infinite flickers? Well, the obvious one is make infinite mane in any combination that you need, and the second thing is "Infinite" rummaging through your deck until you get any of the wincons to pair with the infinite mana and a way to the end the loop because, if the loop is not stopped the game will result in a draw. The main ways to stop the loops is any instant removal for Worldgorger or the attached enchantment, or another creature being in any graveyard. A main warning to anyone unfamiliar with Worldgorger Combo, pulling it off is rather risky because, if an opponent responds to the ETB of Worldgorger your permanents will be exiled and will never come back, so fair warning. What wincons do we have with the infinite mana? Well in the list we have Cut / Ribbons and Torment of Hailfire with those you can drain your opponent to end the game.
