I don't think Paradox Engine would do much, in my list at least.
It doesn't really benefit the Chain Veil combo, and it doesn't provide much utility either. It fits better in a deck like Arcum where you can actually get some use out of it. In Teferi it's just win-more or dead.
I mean sure, you could make the case for it if you keep having all your things tapped down by orbs and such, and have small spells to cast to untap your things, but it's such a limited use that I don't think it's worth it.
Or if you go for a greedier list with every cantrip ever and go for a completely different gameplan.
But then I just wonder why not play Arcum, Azami or JVP instead of Teferi.

Then I must ask why a card like Dramatic reversal is in your maybe board.
From what I've seen discussed on the Cedh discord the problem with Teferi is the lack of a major backup plan to Chain veil combo.

I haven't paid much attention to the maybeboard in a long time. It's more a list of cards I've considered at some point and might slot in someday if something interesting happens to the meta or new interesting interactions pop up with other cards.
Dramatic Reversal was added to the maybeboard because of the Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal infinite mana combo, I was considering trying it out but decided against it in the end.
An alternate wincon to Chain Veil is monolith + Power Artifact + Stroke of Genius, in my list at least. I've not needed it often, but it's there.

Sorry, I'm am idiot, but I don't understand how that bit you put up there is a turn one win in any Christmaslanf. You're producing 8 mana then spending 4 on a Chain Veil. Where's the win?
August 10, 2017 10:11 a.m.
@Sweet_Sorrow:
Play Island.
Cast Mana Crypt.
Use Mana Crypt to cast Grim Monolith.
Use Grim Monolith to cast Mana Vault, floating .
Cast Mox Opal.
Tap Mana Vault, Mox Opal and Island to have in your mana pool.
Cast Teferi, floating .
Untap Mana Crypt, Grim Monolith, Mana Vault and Mox Opal with Teferi.
Tap them all for , plus the floating .
Cast Chain Veil, floating . Activate Chain Veil, floating . Combo off with Teferi & Chain Veil.

And then teferi loses a loyalty counter, and eventualy dies from negative loyalty counters. Where is this a t1 win?

sabon when you are untapping with Teferi you will have enough mana to activate The Chain Veil more than once meaning you can plus Teferi filtering through your deck for a win-con such as Stroke of Genius until you need to minus him again to create more mana, basically he will never die as you can plus him more than you minus him.
September 3, 2017 8:45 p.m.
When you activate chain veils' abilty to use teferi's abilty to untap 4, you can only do this once until teferi untaps chain veil again.
Using his first ability doesn't give you the untap ability which breaks this cycle
If you use the untap ability, you end up running out of loyalty counters and then teferi dies

sabon Sorry I made a mistake, you kill Teferi but the Chain Veil affects all planeswalkers that enter after it was activated as well meaning when you replay Teferi you can rinse and repeat for what is essentially infinite mana as each subsequent Teferi will have a bunch of free activations.
September 3, 2017 9:17 p.m.
Using chain veil's second ability gives you two activations on every planeswalker

Curious, do you think Mishra's Workshop would be a beneficial include? Wasn't sure if it wasn't for monetary reasons, or from a pure functionality standpoint.
September 17, 2017 3:32 p.m.
Workshop was in before, but it was underperforming and most of the time I would've rather had an island. I talked about it with Sigi and Neosloth (the people who wrote the TCV primer) and we agreed that it's time to drop Workshop.

What would you do with all the mana though? Or does it all depend on the seventh card?
October 26, 2017 11:49 a.m.
@CreeperSithlord713 What do you mean?
The turn 1 win in the description uses those cards to get infinite mana and planeswalker activations with Teferi + Chain Veil, at which point you just draw your whole deck with Teferi and kill everyone with Stroke of Genius, Jace, the Mind Sculptor, Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, or whichever wincon you decide to run in your deck.

So, what is the Order? Is it that you plus him when he first enters, then you chain veil and minus combo him to death, cast him again, and repeat? That's where I'm most confused. I see what you're saying, but I'm not sure how it's achieved.
October 28, 2017 2:29 a.m.
@CreeperSithlord713 here's the whole thing:
- Play Island.
- Cast Mana Crypt.
- Use Mana Crypt to cast Grim Monolith.
- Use Grim Monolith to cast Mana Vault, floating .
- Cast Mox Opal.
- Tap Mana Vault, Mox Opal and Island to have in your mana pool.
- Cast Teferi, floating .
- Untap Mana Crypt, Grim Monolith, Mana Vault and Mox Opal with Teferi -1, 4 Loyalty left.
- Tap them all for , plus the floating .
- Cast Chain Veil, floating .
- Activate Chain Veil, floating .
- Now you can -1 Teferi again to untap Grim Monolith, Mana Vault, Mana Crypt and Chain Veil.
- Tap everything for mana again, floating .
- Activate Chain Veil, floating .
Keep repeating this to get more mana, until Teferi dies. Use his last -1 to untap 4 permanents that make mana. You'll need at least to recast Teferi.
You will then have enough Planeswalker activations to not have to untap Chain Veil for a while, so you can just net more mana with Teferi because of the previous Chain Veil activations.
You should at some point start using his +1 to keep him alive longer and to start digging through your library. (For example, +1 once every Teferi recast.) As well as start activating Chain Veil again for each time you +1, in order to be able to keep the loop up.
This will result in practically infinite mana, Planeswalker activations, and your library in your hand.

Hi i love the deck and am in the process of making it (-Timetwister and Tabernacle).
Why is Mindsculptor not good enough for the main deck and also wouldn't the new Karn be good with this many artifacts?
Also do you still feel this deck is Tier 1 or would you say there are strictly better decks in cEDH now. What is your opinion of the newish commander Jhoira?
Thanks a lot!

So i'm sure you've already been over this or have been asked elsewhere but I'm wondering what your thoughts of paradox engine in a Teferi list.
