Competitive Grixis Control

Modern Control UBR (Grixis)

Man... this deck is way fun. Every game I play is long and really forces you to play your hand the right way in the right sequence. Overall record is 5-4 in competitive play so I need to get a bit better with sideboarding.

Favorite part; EVERYONE THINKS ITS A DEATHS SHADOW DECK which is great because they end up holding their fatal pushes/removal until they see one without ever realizing they're getting beat to death with Snapcaster Mage turn after turn.

Match 1 was against bogles - lost the first game but post-boarding I pretty easily won the following two matches with an additional damnation + engineered explosives. Result 2-1 Match 2 was against Mardumancer and he just hammered me. Three turns in a row of hand disruption from him in both games just left me defenseless and dead. Result 0-2 Match 3 was against eldrazi and taxes. I flooded out hard in game 1 and he beat me quick. Game 2 he got me down to 1 and i topdecked a damnation and just drew into gas to finish the match out. Game 3 we went back and forth trading play for play and i got stuck on 3 mana for a while and just couldn't draw into any removal.

Definitely going to be going up 1 cryptic and 1 k command. Also realized that liliana isn't great in this shell. She's a bomb, but just doesn't fit here. I'd rather have another utility card like k-command or cryptic in hand. Looking forward to the next one.
