Shepherd is fine. Most of the payoff spells are green and it can be fetched by creature tutors. It functions a lot like Shusher, but is a lot worse. It's largely unnecessary unless you are in a particularly hostile counterspell meta.

Hi merrowMania. I found your page while browsing popular competitive angry boi lists for inspiration. In the description above you mentioned that we are all trying to find the best Omnath, Locus of Rage list. I agree, and would like to humbly share my list: Angry Boy Burn 12/24/20.

So you know, I am not a professional MTG player, nor does my list have a lot of popularity. Upon sharing card recommendations on VexenX's ever popular Omnath comment section, many of my ideas are unpopular. However, I tend to disagree with the majority and think I could be on to something. According to the EDH General Tier List ranking metric, I believe my list could contend with Fringe Competitive, if not Competitive tier lists. As you seem to be an experienced EDH player, I would be delighted to hear any feedback you might have on this matter. Cheers.

With MH2 coming out, have there been any spoilers you would think of adding to the decklist? My personal opinion would be Gorilla Shaman & Cursed Totem. Though I am having a tough time thinking of what i can switch out, & so what do you think? Would these 2 spoiled cards deserve a spot in the decklist?

If I wanted to add Jeska's Will, Tibalt's Trickery, Boseiju Who Endures, Vandalblast, Jeweled Lotus, Oakhame Adversary. What cards do you think, I can take out?

Things like Mina and Denn, Runic Armasaur, Decimate, Triumph, Wheel of Fortune can probably be dropped. This list is very old and does not reflect what should be run in a cEDH Omnath list, not that I have been thinking about it in years. I got bored of the deck a while ago, and it wasn't performing well in most metas. Feel free to change things and have fun. I'm not much of an authority on the deck anymore (not that I necessarily was before).

I have always respected your opinion on the decklist, but would you have a cEDH Omnath decklist in mind that i could look at? Since as you have stated this list is old.

I don't have one. As I said, I've haven't played Omnath in a long time. I wouldn't say the deck is unplayable or dead, but I wasn't having fun with it and it needed a big retooling back when I dropped it.

I was making an observation on the current decklist and how it is tailored to a meta that no longer exists.

What commanders/decks are you currently using in your meta?

Gitrog, Thrasios/Tymna. Other things if I'm feeling spicy.

Would you have decklists available on Tappedout or Moxfield for those commanders?

No. I don't record the lists anywhere.

Then, if it is alright to send me a decklist via email I am curious if the deck you use is similar to the list my friend uses in my meta?

It won't be much different than what is on the Decklist Database. If you look at the primers, there are tons of explanations for different cards, including meta choices. https://cedh-decklist-database.com/

Do you think this card would be a good include in this decklist? Karn's Sylex 3 Legendary Artifact Karn's Sylex enters the battlefield tapped.

Players can't pay life to cast spells or to activate abilities that aren't mana abilities.

X, T, Exile Karn's Sylex: Destroy each nonland permanent with mana value X or less. Activate only as a sorcery

Not really. It's a slow stax piece, destroys everything else you would put out, and isn't as impactful as you would like it to be. Things like Yasharn and Angel of Jubilation are strong because of the creature/permanent sac protection more than the life spending protection. It would also shut off your own fetchlands. It might be fine in a specific meta if you're seeing a lot of Necropotence, but there isn't much life payment other than Necro, Fetchlands, and Razaketh.
