This is my competitive Soul Sisters deck. I ran a different version with 4x
Squadron Hawk
, but they did not really work that well. The card advantage seems nice, but the creatures rarely do much - the 2CMC is just too much for a 1/1, Maybe when you have an
Honor of the Pure
out - but then you might aswell play any other card.
I've made a few adjustments to the deck and I think it should perform far better. This is work in progress still. As for how the deck works - it seems quite obvious. You pump out sisters and let
Ajani's Pridemate
aswell as
Serra Ascendant
get pretty huge.
The perfect beginning looks more or less like this:
T1 Cavern of Souls (human) ->Serra Ascendant
T2 Any Land-> Martyr of the Sands -> Show 4 cards and sacrifice. Get to 32 Life, Swing for 6.
Your opponent is at 14 while you're at 38. From here you keep on pressuring your opponent furthermore.
Spectral Procession
very often turns around the tide, however you may have to play it no earlier than turn 4 since because of the
Cavern of Souls
. These will keep your wonderful creatures from getting countered. The 2 types you choose are human (highest priority) and soldier (lower priority).
Auriok Champion
will save you fairly often from getting overrun by various red and black decks. Even though she rarely does kill anything by herself, she is a pain to remove and can block bigger threats endlessly. As for the lands I haven't made my mind up yet. Flagstones provide some form of deckthinning without you losing life - which is important since you're trying to get to 30. I've tried out fetches for a short while and while they thin out your deck nicely - they kinda make it harder to reach the magical 30 life barrier. They're a double edged sword in this deck.
Windbrisk Heights
are not an option since I don't run any higher mana cost creatures. I've seen some variations running
Archangel of Thune
and these should have like 2-3 Windbrisks eventually.
Aven Mindcensor
is wonderful against fetchland packed decks. I've added
Chalice of Life
to the deck as an alternative wincondition.
As for the Sideboard. Against goyfs and graveyard shenanigans you use
Relic of Progenitus
obviously. For Affinity we got
Kataki, War's Wage
and
Stony Silence
in our arsenal. Kataki works wonders especially when your opponent plays out his whole hand on turn 1 and has to sacrifice most of it on turn 2.
Leyline of Sanctity
is a godsend against any kind of discard, burn and scapeshift deck.
