great lil sultai draw-go list

Deck Tech:

This deck contains mostly instants or instant-speed effects so that you can save your mana until your opponents turn and play reactively to whatever they play. If you need to counter something or kill a threat you can but if not you can use the mana to draw and dig for more answers. When piloted correctly your opponent will be left frustrated and confused, unable to get anything substantial to stick versus you.

The Draw:

Can't have all the answers if we cant draw all the cards, these cards keep your hand full and options open. Grisly Salvage lets us dig deep for a threat(or a land if needed) and fills the gy for later. Deep Analysis can be used from hand to draw a total of 4 cards but is at its best when it gets milled by something like the aforementioned Grisly Salvage and you can draw 2 cards without using a single card from hand. Ichor Wellspring/Chromatic Star + Deadly Dispute/Rowan's Grim Search gives the deck a TON of draw and a couple of those cards help ensure we always have the colors we need(this is a 3-color deck after all). Khalni Garden + Dimir Aqueduct/Golgari Rot Farm gives you a decent army of chump blockers or extra fodder to sacrifice for draw. Pulse of Murasa isn't exactly draw but it certainly keeps the value engine running letting us double down on unit's effects or return a Generous Ent/Troll of Khazad-dum we cycled earlier in the game to be played as a late game beater.

The Answers:

These cards help ensure nothing your opponent tries to do works. Cast Down is a really solid and straight-forward kill effect and Chainer's Edict is great after the fodder has been cleared by Crypt Rats. With so much draw in the deck, having a wide array of counter magic is great as you can pick the card for the situation. Spell Pierce and Prohibit are the instants but Mirrorshell Crab can be found with Grisly Salvage or brought back to counterspell again with Pulse of Murasa.

The Sideboard:

The sideboard for this deck is pretty cut and dry. Hydroblast is an insane sb card for any deck running blue and is an auto 4 of. Moment's Peace helps stall vs board-based aggro decks and the flashback has nice synergy with our mill. Nihil Spellbomb hits gy strategies from reanimator to cycle storm to certain spellslinger decks while also having great synergy with Deadly Dispute and Reckoner's Bargain. A pet fave of mine is Duress, giving you info on what threats are to come as well as disrupting combos or removing a scary non-creature threat. Deglamer can be swapped out as the card itself is not necessary but I would heavily recommend having 3-5 sb slots dedicated to dealing with artifacts/enchantments and i like that Deglamer denies any death/ltb triggers on the artifact/enchantment.

as always any feedback, ideas, or suggestions are appreciated and if you liked this deck check out my other pauper lists -> jonjonhholt

(also lmk if you liked having an explanation of the sb i havent included it before)
