Hello! I have tried to make this deck as budget as possible. I have added any cards that would make the deck better, but still a little budget, in the maybe board.
The whole point of this deck is to pull off a combo that will either mill all your opponents out completely or you make an infinite number of 1/1 elves.
There are two ways to get the mill combo; both include 1 midnight guard and 1 altar of the brood so it is essential that you protect these cards from removal as much as possible especially the midnight guard.
Option 1: have altar of the brood out on the battlefield as well as the midnight guard. Enchant the midnight guard with the presence of the Gond. Tap the midnight guard to give you a 1/1 elve. This mills the opponent for 1 and untaps the midnight guard at the same time. You can repeat this process over and over again to completely mill your opponent. Alternatively you don't need the altar of the brood out to make a big impact... Having an infinite number of 1/1 elves helps a lot.
Option 2: for this method you will need the altar of the brood and the midnight guard on the battlefield. It is vital you have the brood out or the combo will not work. You will need an ornithopter and a card that bounces the ornithopter jack to your hard, for example retraction helix or banishing knack. The process involves targeting the midnight guard with the the bounce spell ( retraction helix ), then you play the ornithopter for zero mana - this will mill the op pent for 1. Next you bounce the ornithopter back to your hand. You then play the ornithopter again, milling the opponent for 1. Repeat this process over and over again until the filthy casual of an opponent has no cards left in their library.
I have added in some cards that are cheap and I think will help slowing down your opponent until you can pull off the combo. Those are what the counterspells are for.
