I have indeed considered Favored Hoplite Although, a 1+1 when triggered and prevents combat damage is extremely valuable, in this deck the value is at a minimum because I only have 1 instance to target him on an opponents turn, meaning less of a chance to use his full potential to mitigate opponents attack damage.

A great heroic non the less, thanks for the suggestion RobSchneider !

The + 3 Phalanx Leader has yet to provide for this deck, its ability is great but I often find myself with to many heroic creatures in hand and no targeting spells, not exactly what this deck was intended for, seems to me it fits in G/W builds Phalanx Leader

That does leave a 3 slot open and your right Hidden Strings seems to be an interesting play onto card that I want to try out arguslogos awesome suggestion!

And as for the meta game its pretty bad, super heavy on black. But I can see G/W coming up and Gruul, and Azorius Control so maybe for when the hype of black settle down 3 Fiendslayer Paladin would be a wise choice!

personally i love Ordeal of Heliod , and Ordeal of Thassa over your 3x Aqueous Form and 4x Ethereal Armor. would defiantly run one Supreme Verdict also with all your enchantments a Bruna, Light of Alabaster would be fun and practical.

I love Ordeal of Heliod as well, the other one is decent to. I started out with the Ordeals but found it a two mana a and +3 more turns for the sac trigger to be too slow and leaving me vulnerable, if there is a moment when I can put them back in I will ha ha. Supreme Verdict seems decent but a four cost, I'd be doing more harm to what I put out on the board then good with it.

Bruna, Light of Alabaster costs way to much with no mana ramp and its rotated out!

Thanks for the suggestions though vonlatron, the Ordeals are a great card

How about running 3x Thassa, God of the Sea instead of the 3x Heliod, God of the Sun , because I think that unblockable + another scry would be better than the vigilance

That is a great suggestion I am going to put it on the maybe board to test out in the deck, Leumas.thanks

Love the deck +1 from me.

From my testing of it, It feels very weak to Supreme Verdict and even worse against U /W decks and Planar Cleansing I am not sure how to sure up those fights, and I think your going to have a lot of it.

I think Indestructibility fits very well in this deckI also think Rootborn Defenses is another great sideboard option

If you get a chance check out my BUG SuperFriends and see if you like it

Rootborn Defenses is definitly going to be in a test run or two, just Far / Away is really difficult to manage to with the sacrifice mechanic,

I am thinking against esper of U/W control, its going to be in the sideboard that kills them, or at least helps turn the game to my favor.

Only probllem with Indestructibility is it still can be sacrificed!.

No, cheating would be the ol' Trait Doctoring and Nivmagus Elemental combo. Upon attacking the cipher triggers, you exile the spell and your nivmagus gains +2/+2 in counters everytime he hits the enemy...as a matter of fact, any cipher spell works

Gee... This deck is daymn good. Beat my Golgari to a pulp

The only reason I don't Supreme Verdict Is the idea that the creatures I put out on the field are too valuable to justify me blowing them away, but against hyper aggressive decks it sometimes saves my butt.

I just found myself with awkward situations when the card sits in my hand, something I. Don't want to deal with at states.

I would definitely recommend Omenspeaker she really helps smooth out your draws as well as providing an early defender to dissuade those 3/1 creatures your opponent throws out in aggro matchups.

As for your sideboard against U/W control and esper control:

Gainsay , Glare of Heresy , Dispel , Negate are all good.

Also I'm kinda curious about your current sideboard cards. In what matchups do you use what?

What would you replace Omenspeaker with instead? It definitly would help in card advantage.

Looking at the top decks from this last weekend:Red Deck Wins- this means aggro so either Boros Reckoner or Blind Obedience both anti aggro what do you thyink? Maybe even Imposing Sovereign

Azorious Control-The playtests against this deck was all about AEtherling , I was weak against it so Pithing Needle seems to be a solid solution. As well as plains walkers. Detention Sphere always rang in and saved the day.

Esper- is becoming a problem as well in this meta game of late, this is where I think Gainsay has its double meaning for U/W Control and Esper.

Based on these to top tier decks, spells seem to be huge thats why I was thinking of Swan Song or Negate , they both have a great value I am not sure yet on which on to choose, but seeing how control goes long Negate may take the cake.

As for the monowhite, G/W, and B/W decks forming into standard competition and gruul running as strong as ever with plains walkers Im looking at Pacifism over Glare of Heresy just because it provides an enchantment on the field, helps with devotion, and takes and color creature!

But I did realize something pretty awesome, Glare of Heresy seems pretty well position in a mirror match!

+2 Pithing Needle +1 Detention Sphere +2 Gainsay +3 Negate +3 Boros Reckoner +2 Elspeth, Sun's Champion +2 Glare of Heresy

How about this for a side board? Any suggestions on this list Lord007

Token machines... with Elspeth, Sun's Champion out there along with all of selesnia I'd recommend Ratchet Bomb . Other than that it looks pretty good.

As for Omenspeaker I'd replace Hopeful Eidolon with Omenspeaker

Nice deck you've got here +1! I have made a similar one which uses more heroic and is more aggro. Maybe it gives you some inspiration :) Heroic Auras U/W

GSalty says... #22

It dominates aggro. No doubt about that, haha. I do wonder how it'd fair in control matchups, though.

a meta game isn't established yet, still too early for that. I would call the winner of the recent tournaments "top tier" more like "most lucky" for right now anyway.
