Ya know, I feel Conifer Strider kinda reminds me of another card from a different game, except worse. Say hello to Magma RagerMagma Rager

Your build was quite similar to what I had in mind a month ago: Unblockable Hexproof
I included Anticipate in the event that I didn't get a decent draw to try to cycle through some cards.
I also included Void Snare to bounce a Perilous Vault
I haven't set them against each other yet, but I'd be interested to see them duel.

I played this for gameday, had alot of trouble against the midrange RG decks with dragons/goblins, and UB control. Anything slower than and or less controlly was fine though. Encase in Ice might be a have to use in sideboard.

Exodium - I'm curious: slower than U/B Control? As a U/B control player, the only slower deck I can think of is Sidisi Whip hitting unfavourable mills, and honestly, this deck would probably eat mine for breakfast, considering a lone Conifer Strider is a 4-turn clock starting on turn 3.

poot
That was the sound of my brain farting. Totally missed the "or not as controlly" bit.

You know what kills Conifer Strider? The extolled lord of Magic's most busted color: Storm Crow.

notKingCole Luckily Storm Crow isn't in Standard or I would be screwed.

How do you feel about Silumgar, the Drifting Death or even Reaper of the Wilds? They both only requires one black mana symbol and you are already running confluences / caryatids. They are the only decent "hexproof" cards I could think of that you dont already have here. +1 from me!

Storm Crow transcends formats. Watch out at yer next FNM.
But seriously, this is a really cool deck. Gotta love this much Hexproof in Standard. Big +1 from me, but I have no suggestions unfortunately.

Been doing some testing. This deck is a lot of fun to play and is frustrating opponents. Only issues I've seen is against quick T4 kill aggro decks and we get blown out by any deck that plays Crux of Fate. It's really fun though and seeing your opponent frustrated because their hand full of removal is useless is fantastic.

If you are scared of board wipes, use negate, or Stratus Dancer, which can't be countered. Another is something like gift of immortality.

I believe this is the defenition of fucking shit up, awesome deck

I love this deck. Any tips about side boarding against abzan aggro or atarka red would be greatly appreciated. I cannot wait to put Esper Dragons and control decks to the slaughter with this!

Thanks, OSWEGO_mustang! You will get a kick out of stomping with this, I can tell you from experience :)
Abzan went down hard against this, at least the version I faced, because all their kill spells target--Abzan Charm, Valorous Stance, Hero's Downfall. Those AEtherspouts in the board are great against big swings. You might find your meta needs more proactive control, though--consider Singing Bell Strike.
And if dragons ye be facing, that's what Plummet is for!

Hey man, any more improvements on this deck or results to update us on? I want to play this deck competitively and would love any more input that you have, MincAndBoo?

MinscAndBoo would always tell you to go for the eyes. :)

@OSWEGO_mustang go for it! Can't think of much more to add, haven't taken it out for a spin since my last update. Beware of aggro, though. The lifegain and bounce should help mediate it. Looking forward to hear how it rolls for you, and if you make any tweaks! Good hunting!

Can't wait to try this out. It's really good to goldfish, so you remember to scry before dropping Cloudform and to hold cards for Sunbringer's.
Against aggro, how do you feel about Displacement Wave, from Origins? Do you we have time to send back their 1 drops?
July 14, 2015 3:04 a.m.
Displacement Wave for 0 or 1 will take out any tokens/minis, so that could be helpful against aggro or token generators.
I was thinking of adding Orbs of Warding to my strider deck as an added bonus to prevent the new Celestial Flare from making me sac my beefy striders.
Also might add Rogue's Passage to help with unblockable.
All in all I think origins has some cards that could make nice additions to the deck.
