Conquest Pod

This deck is still very much a WIP. With this being my first Conquest deck I am fairly unaware of what good meta picks would be in terms of hate pieces but in general I just wanted to put together a Staxxy list to start playtesting with

Why Samut

The main reason is that Samut feels like the best option for the colors. As someone who plays a decent bit of blue pod and meta pod, I really wanted to use a playstyle I was used to for initial Conquest playtesting and the main colors I needed were GRW. Samut does have some nice qualities but there are some pretty major drawbacks compared to a normal EDH pod list

Pros

• Colors
• Anthem haste is actually really relevant both when activation Birthing Pod or Yisan, the Wanderer Bard for value or low CMC pods and when trying to combo off with Goblin Sharpshooter + Splinter Twin
• The untap ability helps two combos: it allows Yisan, the Wanderer Bard to go off in 1 turn if there is enough mana available (See combo section) and it allows Goblin Sharpshooter + Splinter Twin to combo off without a dork to kill
• Honestly a decent swinger and blocker. Not a fast clock or anything but a vigilant double strike body is decent aggression and protection

Cons

• Very significant lack of draw, opening hands are incredibly important
• Somewhat high CMC it's often hard to justify casting Samut over other cards

• Samut, Voice of Dissen on the battlefield
• 10 green mana and 5 colorless mana (Usually less depending on Verse 2 and the number of dorks untapped by verse 3)

2. Activate Quirion Ranger to untap Yisan, the Wanderer Bard
3. Verse 2: Bloom Tender or Priest of Titania depending on mana
4. Untap Yisan, the Wanderer Bard by activating Samut, Voice of Dissent
5. Verse 3: Village Bell-Ringer
6. Verse 4: Felidar Guardian
7. Verse 5: Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker

Card Discussion

• Dryad of the Ilysian Grove: 3 seems to be a weird spot for Birthind Pod, so want to test going for some ramp and color fixing compared to something like a Village Bell-Ringer
