As the name states, this deck is a Golgari Constellation Dredge Midrange deck. It mainly uses
Strength from the Fallen
to pump up creatures and swing for ridiculous amounts of damage. This deck utilizes Eidolon of Blossoms and
Commune with the Gods
to draw all the necessary cards to win.
This deck can be pretty hilarious. Here's a breakdown of the cards in the deck and the purpose they serve:
-
Boon Satyr
can flash in once all the blockers have been declared to either pump up a creature that didn't get blocked or pump up one that did and kill an important target. He also flashes in on their turn to get pumped by
Strength from the Fallen
and block a creature himself.
-Elvish Mystic helps mana ramp us to
Courser of Kruphix
on turn two and Eidolon of Blossoms on turn three, and so on and so forth.
-
Commune with the Gods
digs for valuable creatures/enchantments and sends creatures to the graveyard to benefit
Strength from the Fallen
and Nighthowler.
-Satyr Wayfinder mills the top four cards of the deck, helping us fill the graveyard with creatures and grabs a land from among the four cards to keep us from ever having mana issues. Satyr Wayfinder has not only seen to it that I feel safe keeping a two mana hand with this guy in it, but has keeps me from having mana problems. If there is no mana in the four he mills, we will see some soon.
-
Courser of Kruphix
is an all-star. A 2/4 blocker on turn 3 that allows us to dig through our deck faster by playing any lands that end up on the top of the deck. The
Courser of Kruphix
also gains us life whenever we play a land, which is awesome. Not to mention, it triggers constellation.
-Eidolon of Blossoms provides insane card advantage.
-Strengh From the Fallen is this decks pillar. While we don't need it to win, it wins us games over and over again. This card comes out of nowhere and pumps creatures to upwards of 20+ power/toughness. This card is really the most important card in the deck.
-
Kruphix's Insight
digs through the top six and gives us up to three enchantment cards. This provides us with card advantage and helps us have the cards we need when we need them. Much like
Commune with the Gods
, except more cards go to our hand. The downside is that it's a 3 drop so we have to wait a turn longer than we would for Commune.
-
Lotleth Troll
has trample to slam through enemy defenses and regeneration to block oncomming attacks. Early game he protects us, late game he crushes the opponent.
-Nighthowler triggers constellation and benefits from the pile of creatures in the graveyard. The bestow ability ensures that Nighthowler is a problem for the opponent that survives Supreme Verdict and similar spells.
-
Pharika, God of Affliction
is a 3 drop god that can be made animate to block/attack with indestructability. Also her ability to make 1/1 enchantment deathtouch snakes that trigger constellation is not irrelevant. Yes she exiles creatures from your graveyard, so her ability is more valuable as a late game ability and that is why she is a one of in the deck.
-Nylea, God of the Hunt gives all of our creatures trample and triggers constellation. Used at the right moment in the late-game, she will finish your opponent. Also she becomes easily animate with all the green devotion in this deck.
