So I was wanting to know opinions on if any of the new planeswalkers from war can work in a deck like this I am trying them in a slower variant of this an was wandering if they would be good in a budget brew or if they are worth it at all in a deck like PST.

Your opponents will have full hands of their deck. They will lose after the second cast.
Yawg is just too broken not to play. On the combo turn you can use a hard outlet - like Winds of Rebuke - to win that turn as well.
Re: Journey; Journey is in the list (like Twister) to enable a win beyond Copy Artifact . But yes, as you said, the loop does work. The two combos in PST really like one another. (:
New Narset is kinda cute with wheel effects and draw locking. But realistically most of the other WAR walkers are not playable/worthwhile in this shell. However, if you want to try a WAR walker, Narset is definitely the one to try.

PST is also a great me_irl peek into the life of someone who tries really hard to keep things in order in their brain but it doesn't work.
Deck's alright though.

AlwaysSleepy Okay so crap. Negate was still in the list. You know what? We're going to play Negate and Dovin's Veto . We're gonna cut Spell Pierce .
Lol you got rid of negate from the list, and put in spell pierce. I personally prefer negate, but spell pierce has it's uses too. Idk which you are actually trying to put in the list, but for clarification I'd assume you wanna fix that lol.
It's ok bro, we all got all sorts of shit going on. I keep telling siggy to fix his Urza deck, but he says there's 3 other people he has to talk to about it. lol we all fumble our decks in our brains as we remove/add things.
Either way, I just made the deck in paper finally (minus the proxy time twister). So I can start playing some webcam magic on PlayEDH/labmaniacs discord. Good list and love it.

Why do you run Yawgmoth's will? is it really that much better than something else? Could you run another sweeper instead? since we have both regrow and noxious revival that do similar things?
I feel like most of the time you just want 1 or to things back from your yard and then regrow does the trick. Even the windfall line after angels grace ad naus works with regrow instead of yawgwill as well?

The honest answer is YawgWill is obscenely broken and it's too singularly powerful to cut. It itself enables its own lines of play.

I'm on a bit of a budget and can get most of what I need for this deck for under $400. I was wondering, since you're playing duals AND shocks if the pain lands would be decent enough replacements for the duals that I don't have budget for?
June 14, 2019 12:21 p.m.
AlwaysSleepy says... #12
Lacking the ability to be fetched may hurt, but I think they are a fine budget replacement overall. Pain lands were even in the deck at some earlier point/proto-lists, they are quite competent.

Hey Mr. Sleepy,
also got a question regarding a replacement for Timetwister in my Budget-List. I'm currently pondering about adding the new Echo of Eons together with Pull from Eternity for Twisterloops. First I just planed to replace it with Aven Mindcensor ...
I'm also missing the old Duals, Imperial Seal and Noble Hierarch and will be replacing them with Painlands, Muddle the Mixture and Llanowar Elves .
I would also like to hear your opinion about the new Force of Negation and why you chose to not add it to your Maybeboard...?
June 19, 2019 8 a.m.
AlwaysSleepy says... #14
I think Memory's Journey is your best bet instead of the Echo of Eons / Pull from Eternity loop. Pull is fairly poor overall and Echo is almost uncastable - I'd advise to just run a single card outlet over a 2 card one.
Those are fine replacements.
Re: Force of Negation - added in maybeboard. I just forgot. It's a unique card and carves out a good niche but it's lack of offensive power hinders it. However it's in the right power level for cEDH and it's okay to run in more reactive lists.

Hi sleepy,
I'm almost finished putting one of these together, but I won't be able to afford a vampiric tutor. Obviously dark petition has already replaced Imperial seal, and I'd like to avoid running consultation, it just feels too risky. I was wondering what the next best tutor is to replace it. Something like Diabolic Intent , or maybe even Intuition for the instant speed? (already own one of course)

AlwaysSleepy says... #16
I think those are fine replacements. Diabolic Intent is a reasonable choice in dork-heavier builds. If you are splitting down the middle (dorks/rocks), I'd lean to Intuition or Muddle the Mixture .

Why would you recommend Tainted Pact over Demonic Consultation if you are only running 1? Isn't Tainted Pact more dangerous when used as a tutor and more expensive when winning through lab man?

Sucks about the ban. Glad this list doesn't need a huge change.

Can I offer anyone a poem in this trying time?
Paradox Engine has been banned.
And now this list is certainly manned,
With a scientist, crazy,
And a walker, maybe,
Just cast Consult and name Hammerhand.
jk it's still amazing

Yeah, you're right. We're slowly getting the peripheral information in order and haven't been able to revise those just yet.
Mostly this page is up to date so far.

I am an advanced noob in MTG- Haven't graduated just yet to mid-tier in my opinion, so please forgive me if this sounds like a stupid question.
Why is Snapcaster Mage not run in a deck with 39 instants and sorceries? Can one of you please explain...I am working on a close copy of this deck and everything within me wants to run him.
July 11, 2019 12:58 p.m.
bkelly8401 Although a staple in mono U decks, Snappy just doesn't have quite the impact in a 4 colour deck where you have so many high impact cards to choose from. 1U to allow you to play one spell from your graveyard isn't amazing when you have e.g. Yawg Will. There are also commonly played graveyard hate cards that can mess your target up like DRS, Noxious and even Mem's Journey.

Your May be board and main board have over lap, is that intentional?

I'm working on changing my thrasios deck into an ultra competitive list like this. I have a few questions of some of the cards.
Yawgmoth's Will : This card is really powerful, except it seems to mess with the combo turn too much. Have you considered taking it out if it's just used as a general value card? What circumstances would I absolutely need this?
Memory's Journey : I don't have a timetwister so this is the recommended "loop" card. Is there a reason I can't use Isochron Scepter with Noxious Revival along with Paradox Engine or Dramatic Reversal + Isochron Scepter ? Assuming I'm on the combo turn, memory's journey seems like a nice source of redundancy but not actually required.
