thanks to many suggestions i've cut the deck cost in half. now i just need help with sideboard.

So...

Instant-wise, I would go to 3-4 Cryptic Command. It's just that good. Cut the Remand by one or two and add a Dispel in the main. You also might want to go down on the Thought Scour a bit, putting your finishers into the yard is no fun. I would also go to a full 4 paths and try out 1 Murderous Cut.

For sorcery-speed stuff, I would add two Thoughtseize for some more discard, because there won't be much that you can do against a Splinter Twin or CoCo in hand. Otherwise, I would also go to 3 Serum Visions.

The creature base needs, I think, a rather big revision. The Delver of Secrets  Flip are not a good idea because this is a rather slow deck, and delver will likely be killed very quickly in a non-tempo shell. The Monastery Mentor should also go, and I would absolutely up to 4 Snappy. That won't leave you with a ton of finishers, so I would try 3 Celestial Colonnade.

ok. thanks famous. im trying to go budget. i cant do 3 cryptics cause they are 20 dollars each. also snappy is great, but its 50 dollars per. i will take most suggestions, but htoughtseize is 20 per. i am trying to lower the budget, and im not quite sure how to do that. thanks for taking a look. :)

i dunno about monastery. its really good in late game cause i can protect it. also it spawns a nice little army. if i take it out, what else should i have as a big hitter?

Oh and you may consider swapping Creeping Tar Pit for Celestial Colonnade now.

nah. i kindof like creepy tar pits. i dunno. they grew on me. maybe 3 mana for 3/2 unblockable is just kindof nice.

For what it's worth Dragonlord Ojutai might be a nice finisher for you. 5cmc, 5/4 flyer with hexproof when untapped and has an Anticipate ability when he connects. If you go that route, would recommend Minamo, School at Water's Edge to protect him.

thanks. i might add some. i'll see if i can get my hands on some, or i can buy them when they rotate. then they will be much cheaper. maybe i can trade a liliana flippy for 1 if im lucky. i dunno. worth a shot.

is there any replacement for snappy?i love him, but he's 50 dollars. so expensive.

November 15, 2015 1:52 p.m.

Finishers: White Sun's Zenith is the most common one, others include Elspeth, Sun's Champion, Blood Baron of Vizkopa, Baneslayer Angel, Batterskull, and Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir.

If you wanted to go really deep, you could go for an Gifts Ungiven+Unburial Rites+Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite/Iona, Shield of Emeria combo.

As for Snap replacements, none. You only need 2 tho, and he's well worth it. You could prolly get away with not playing him tho.

nah. aw. ok. i will try not playing him. 2 cost 100 dollars. maybe add in more murder spells and counters.

TheAnnihilater, no love for the dragonlord?

November 15, 2015 2:39 p.m.

btreuther It was already mentioned, but I actually would never play Dragonlord at all since it's not hexproof when it attacks. I'd play just about any of the other finishers listed before Ojutai =\

Oh, and I never mentioned Gideon Jura or Gideon, Ally of Zendikar, both of which are playable.

November 15, 2015 3:03 p.m.

I'd drop a Murderous Cut for a Detention Sphere, and 3x Logic Knot is a little risky.

November 15, 2015 3:07 p.m.

car says... #19

ok. i really like cut. maybe take out a a knot and a cut. add 1 sphere.

i was looking through some esper lists, and i found some good shit. Surgical extraction is amazing. it goes really well with all the counters. i dont really like geist anymore, but what about batterskull. if i can equip it to baron, then im good for the game. please tell me if im thinking too much smash. im a timmy.

November 15, 2015 7:02 p.m.

Ok, sideboard needs a lot of work -- 1x Curse of Death's Hold, 1x Disenchant, some number of Leyline of Sanctity/Kitchen Finks/Timely Reinforcements, 1-2x Spellskite, 1-2x Engineered Explosives, 1x Jace, Architect of Thought, any number of Lingering Souls would all do work.

Do's: You must include 1-2x Wrath of God in there somewhere, because Thrun, the Last Troll sees play and will kill you. Lifegain in some form is an absolute must, since burn is both popular and such a bad matchup.

Don't's: Too many 4 ofs, but I assume it's because you didn't know your options.

November 16, 2015 5:46 p.m.

Oh, and as far as tweaking numbers, I could tell you how to change them, but I think you'd get a lot more from it if you just proxied up the list and tested it in person against real decks and people or online with cockatrice (download @ www.woogerworks.com) or at www.untap.in. That way you could determine for yourself if you have too many finishers, etc.
