Counter spells and removal. Game stalling until enough lands are dropped to force through a liliana ult or gearhulk beat down. Liliana can recur the gearhulks if they die. A a bit weak to fast paced aggro decks but fatal push will be added when available to help with that.

Aether Revolt release changes — Jan. 24, 2017

Updated the deck to account for the release of Aether Revolt. Rebuff got the cut due to the continuing power of certain artifacts. Fatal push takes the place of both rebuff and largely essence extraction in the side board.

The counter package has been updated to include disallow. The mix between it and void shatter is in flux until how much graveyards shall matter is settled.

Baral is in to drop the mana curve and act as a nuisance blocker to creatures with power two or less, especially skulkers. As yet no specific copycat solution has been included in the sideboard due to its lack of play in my local meta. I will update once I've faced it a few times.

Also considered for addition was Yahenni's Expertise but was discarded due to either being available only on turn 4 or turn 3 with a sacrificial Baral. The deck does not play the kind of drops that the free spell aids. Consideration has also been given to playing metallurgic summonings as a win condition. Mana curve concerns have prevented this until now but it's a strong contender.
