Do you think the sideboard is currently in a place to deal with control? I think that the whip could help by bringing back the threats they destroyed or countered.

I definitely think that Whip of Erebos should be added to the sideboard if not main. Also the Pithing Needle , Sire Of Insanity , and Obzedat, Ghost Council should work nicely. Perhaps a Slaughter Games or two?

How does Pithing Needle kill AEtherling ?

@ mekhydro It's not that Pithing Needle directly kills AEtherling , but rather it inhibits his activated abilities, preventing him from exiling himself, or pumping himself. With no way of dodging removal, he falls prey to all forms of removal. However, the joys of Pithing Needle don't stop with AEtherling , anything with an activated ability can be shut down by Pithing Needle . So all loyalty abilities of planeswalkers, Underworld Connections (but you need to select the land it is attached too, not the Connections, so the land can produce mana, but the activated ability of the enchanted land will no long be able to be activated), Pack Rat (Using a needle on him shuts down most mono black decks running it, Whip of Erebos (no more reanimating), and anything else with an activated ability that you want to stop. I hope this helps.

What about a sideboard or mainboard Underworld Cerberus ? He isn't easily blocked, and with the power of the creatures you run, killing him would make defeating you very difficult. Really, the only reliable ways of outing him are exile and countering, which makes your later threats less liable of eating a counterspell or those enchantment-exiles, and thus making your life much easier in the long run whether he hits the table or not.

This deck is really cool. I am currently working on an Oros deck, but it's not doing very good. I think I am just going to use this deck!

Hey guys. I am thinking of making this deck and i want to know if it is a good competitive deck for FNM or a GP?

March 4, 2014 7:36 p.m.

I need to update this deck for the newest set. I am yet to add anything from Born of the Gods. I will work on it and post and update when I add it in. When I last played this deck (before the newest set), it performed very well. I will let you know how it plays after I add in new cards.
