Based on the combo of Confounding Conundrum + Fall of the Thran
. Whenever the saga forces the opponent to put two lands into play, they each see each other enter the battlefield, causing Conundrum to trigger twice. This means Fall of the Thran is very close to a one-sided
Armageddon
, considering you will get your lands back and the deck has other ways of functioning through this.
Most everything else in the deck makes Fall of the Thran stronger by breaking its symmetry.
Felidar Retreat
rebuilds the board state,
Cosima, God of the Voyage
refills your hand and gives you a sufficient beater to close out the game.
As Foretold
allows you to cast spells without paying mana which is useful after destroying all lands, and there is a reasonable number of instant-speed cards to take advantage of this. The current build isn't all-in on As Foretold, so maybe it's worth trying to include a bit more instant-speed card draw in place of a few wraths.
Emergency Powers
is actually really fun IMO. I've cast it off As Foretold before, hitting a Fall of the Thran and locking out the game. I think it's a nice 1-of. You probably don't want more unless you're really on the As Foretold plan because it's going to be difficult to hard-cast, but even if you don't have As Foretold in play, Emergency Powers might come in useful prior to landing your first Fall.
I think
Unsubstantiate
is really decent here, because you're trying to lock them out of mana so it's pretty versatile and effective.
Dovin's Veto
can allow you to resolve a Fall and that can be game-ending.
Wraths are wraths. Like I said, maybe it's worth replacing a few with some card draw especially considering As Foretold, but maybe I'm being defensive after getting wrecked by aggro. Maybe the ideal version of the deck would rely a bit more on returning permanents to the opponent's hand.
I don't know if it's worth running
Tranquil Cove
or
Radiant Fountain
. The repeated and incidental lifegain seems nice, but I've been enjoying having reasonable mana on curve so I dunno.
Any ideas are welcome, I saw someone did a version with mana rocks to stay up on mana and that seems cool too.
