Coward_Token I'd say it's about even because of the buff, mutate effect, and the synergy with Haakon, Stromgald Scourge when Ashes of the Fallen is out. I'll give the edge to mutates. Plus I think the mutates are just cooler.

Yeah, with some thinking I agree. Also good catch on the recursion possibility. Still unsure about the Bat tho, it feels a bit underwhelming for a conditional CMC 6 spell. I get that there's a pretty good package of Hero's Downfall and Drake Umbra (kinda), but the former gets kinda awkward when you ideally want to constantly keep it ready in your back pocket for instant speed reactionary removal, while the latter is something you want to bust out a bit earlier in preparation for wipes.

So, any thoughts for cards that could improve this list after the announced rules change on commander dies triggers?

Not really. It makes the mutate creatures less viable though.
This deck has always run on the ability to function without Elenda at all, or even just once. The option to rezone just makes her function better, it doesn’t really change how good the rest of the deck is.

Hey there! Just read your Split Second article, very cool! Cool to see someone with similar thoughts of initially building Elenda as a challenge, but I love the change as it opens up more possibilities too!
I've been looking at ways for new win conditions with the death trigger changes, and aside from the ones you've listed, Elenda, the Dusk Rose can go infinite with Phyrexian Altar + Blade of the Bloodchief, provided she has sufficient counters to start with to offset her commander tax. Similarly the combination of Cordial Vampire + Anointed Procession = Teysa Karlov, which can go infinite with Phyrexian Altar.
Those combos will also work with Ashnod's Altar, but you need to include either Gemstone Array or Mycosynth Lattice, which I don't think is worth the card slot.
PS. Your Haakon, Stromgald Scourge tech is very creative. My deck is vampire rather than knight themed, but now I HAVE to include it when I brew a Syr Gwyn, Hero of Ashvale deck hahaha

linkzero hey thanks!
The only new combo I can see in here is Elenda, the Dusk Rose(unbuffed) + 1 creature + Teysa Karlov + Phyrexian Altar = Infinite Tokens, and infinitely big Elenda, and infinite colored mana. At the cost of commander tax.

This is a fantastic deck primer, flavorful and beautifully done! I've made my own Elenda deck, and I've used this as help in combination with my own pet cards. It got at slightly lower curve on mine :).

new Kaya? IDK if it's too mediocre for the cost, but +1's token making stacks with itself so that's something

I am exceptionally late to this boat, but ive heard terrible rumors...
They changed Haakon so that he only works with Actual factual knight cards now. I believe its due to how they changed his oracle text but I'm still unsure if he still combos with ASHES of the fallen.
Maybe swap the ashes with Maskwood Nexus to keep that interaction?

Neat mutate catch, but is it worth it compared to cheaper Unhallowed Pact-style Auras?
I'm a big fan of Ozolith, esp. since it'll work with those few other +1/+1 sources you got
