I'm working on a deck with a similar concept if you want to check it out devotion to the scales

Id like to put Avatar of the Resolute and Satyr Grovedancer in. Avatar would usually come in pretty large and the Satyr can help spread the counters to make other cards more efficient. I just dont want to take anything out.

Took out Lightwalker and Aven Skirmisher because they didnt help me develop my board well enough. Ainok Guide may end up being replaced with the Satyr Grovedancer.

Ainok Guide does look like a slightly better version of the Satyr Grovedancer because you are normally fine with the 2/2 or 3/3 but i'll let you know more after further testing. I do prefer a Den Protector or two in the list.

Also 20 lands is way to low for this type of color variant, off the top drop the scale blessing for 2 lands

Den Protector is a slightly higher curve than most of my cards, excluding Hidden Dragonslayer. What I like about the slayer is the lifelink and removal. I may end up adding just one or two for selective recursion late game. Perhaps the sideboard? Grindy decks would hate to see it.

No Reverent Hunter? High Sentinels of Arashin? or any of the counter captains? (Tuskguard Captain, Ainok Bond-Kin, Abzan Falconer, Abzan Battle Priest) No Solidarity of Heroes, Gleam of Authority, or the infinite possibilities Enduring Scalelord brings at the top of the curve, with Ordeal of Nylea to ramp you there?

Seriously though, there are way too many good cards for this style of deck right now.

Reverrant hunter is the only one I would consider and may actually play. This deck doesnt need any of the outlast creatures if theyd be anything theyd be "win more". Possibly Ainok Bond kin...

Nice deck! I run a similar deck, I'm curious how Reverent Hunter works for you? I'm on the fence about it in a deck like this - but I suppose with hardened scales and an avatar down that still comes in with 4 counters...

If you want to check out my similar deck list, it's You Can Count(er) on Anafenza :)

5 counters, even. my bad.

Also how have you found megamorphing Hidden Dragonslayer - does it slow you down at all having to invest 6 mana into it?

So im not sure about the hunter, added in the main last night to test it out. My problem is that its only a vanilla 5/5.

Hidden Dragonslayer is played as just a lifelink creature against some decks and as removal against others. The two sets of three mana has only been a problem once and thats because I only had three mana out against Gruul

Need a good sideboard against RW aggro. Im thinking Plummet for the number of flyers but maybe Setessan Tactics for their numbers.

I've stayed away from mtg for a little while, but i am quite happy to see a plethora of suggestions with the new sets that have come out! I will look through this and come up with a newer version.
