This deck is pretty self explanatory I think. Get out Animar. Play creatures to put tokens on him. The more tokens he has, the cheaper your creatures become and the bigger he gets. This version of the deck has a whole lot of Draw Advantage on its creature to support the creature spamming. There are a few creature tutor cards added in in order to find situational answers when they come up in battle. I have put huge amounts of thought into this deck and it's updates and it is a blast to play.

Doubling Season was really only using one of its effects because there is only one card in this deck that makes token creatures. Also with its 5 drop cost not being reduced by Animar, it takes all 5 lands on turn 5 to be able to play it, which slows down the steady stream of creatures coming out. Ancestral Statue, assuming you have 4 +1/+1 counters on animar, is an infinite combo that can be used to give Animar infinite +1/+1 counters, or if you add Soul of the Harvest or one of its kin, you get infinite card draw as well, or if you add Purphoros you can do infinite damage to all players. It just has alot more potential especially early on, for outright winning the game or at least ramping the hell out of your strategy. So although I love doubling season, this seemed like the most reasonable cut.

Fathom Mage is great for drawing some cards, but Purphoros is dealing damage to each of your opponents every time you play a creature, which you are usually playing several of damn near every turn past 3. Plus with its game ending combo with Ancestral Statue, it was just a solid trade, even though this deck is an aggro deck, not a combo deck.

Renegade Krasis was a really had decision but I keep getting commentary on how I need some more mana dorks, and honestly, bloom tender is an amazing little producer in this deck, plus its low cmc can make it one of the first creatures you play post animar etb to start beefing him up.

Thrumingbird has always felt like one of the most natural and logical choices for this deck, but I needed more mana dorks, and Birds of Paradise is a solid replacement. Thrumingbird can only proliferate when it actually does combat damage, which with flying is much easier but is still circumstantial, where Birds of Paradise is an any color mana dork that can still chump block a flyer like Thrumingbird can.

Nullmage Shepherd was something I added in as a tutor target for when disenchant is what I really need, but since this version has 2 Ulamogs in it that each have exile ANY permanent, I think it had become unnecessary. Dream Stalker on the other hand has a lower CMC. Its etb bounce ability can either be used to cycle it in much the same way as ancestral statue except it takes 1 blue instead of being free. It's etb bounce ability though could be used to bring back Animar to my hand if he gets transformed into a land by Song of the Dryads, Imprisoned in the Moon, or a similar effect. Although this isn't a tutor heavy deck, the 6 tutors I do have increase the value on this choice.

Drumhunter for Rashmi, Eternities Crafter was an easy choice. Rashmi is just outright better than Drumhunter. In Animar cmc terms it is 1 higher, however it's draw is not conditional like drumhunters, and it may even play the card for free instead of drawing it, which is outright better.

Willow Satyr was in for some much needed creature stealing. Begiuler of Wills however is the same Animar CMC and it's creature stealing is both permanent and repeatable. Plus I have been wanting to use Begiuler of Wills in a deck FOREVER. So It's inclusion as a strictly better puts a smile on my face.

I had also been told that my land count may in fact be a bit high, and after checking out edhrec and seeing that the average for Animar is 36, I decided to cut a few lands for a few more creatures.

I cut Okina, Temple to the Grandfathers for Man o War because Man o War can cycle in the same way as Dream Stalker and Ancestral Statue, or it could be used to bounce a troublesome enemy creature.

Dryard Arbor comes into play tapped, so even though it is also a creature which is nice, I cut it for Somberwald Sage in order to get some more colored mana ramp going to help spam creatures even harder.

Llanowar Reborn's graft ability is nice but it also comes into play tapped which slows me down, so I replaced it with Beastcaller Savant, which can make mana of any color, has haste so it can do it the turn I play it, and is low CMC to help bump up Animar.
