Alright, probably the first and only FNM account for this deck. While I definitely see the value in winning, it is NOT fun for your opponent to play, and you end up apologizing for their shitty time at FNM.

In general, sometimes you lose a match, but it's still fun. It was still fun because it was a grueling battle full of stories to tell, or you were at least able to resolve your strategy for the other player to take note of. When Counterpart Culture "works", there is no resolution for your opponent. Just a bunch of LD and tears.

I'm not going to go drill down into the matches. I will tell you that we only had three, and two of them were complete blowouts. A couple of those games, my opponents didn't even have a board presence, like, no land, no nothing. The one game I would like to discuss, and the reason I am retiring this deck, was against my second opponent.

It was against a Bant control variant. Thragtusk, Restoration Angels, Sphinx's Revelation, the newest Jace. All the high-dollar cards. Game one, I had to mulligan to four cards, yet I was able to stay afloat for quite a while in the game. He had a Tamiyo that went off, and after that, it was me just trying to stay afloat. I almost had him, but a couple miss-plays did me in.

Game two, however, dragged on FOREVER. Lots of negate-your-negate and typical counter vs. counter plays. I won this game, however, by blowing up all his green sources, and then getting my Archeomancer/Druid's Deliverance combo off. By the time I won, we had only one minute on the clock. By the time we shuffled, we were already on a five-turn clock for game three. He was miffed, and rightfully so. With some haggling, I just conceded. Not worth the tie at this point.

In the end, it's a competitive deck. It really is. However, It's not really worth running the clock. Also, these are people I would like to stay friends with. I mean, everyone DID get a laugh out of it, ultimately. Playing something like this week-after-week would just be stupid, though. So it's not like I got chewed out or anything, but there are better ways to win.
