Creature (1)

Maybeboard

This deck has changed a lot over the years. It started out as the Guildpact Simic intro deck, and as a naive boy I thought it was literally flawless. Then I noticed in my collection Simic Ragworm+Experiment Kraj+Solarion, aka that combos exist. Later I found Experiment Kraj + Gilder Bairn + Elvish Aberration (hence the original name of this deck), so then I added red to include things like Goblin Razerunners.

When the original commander decks came out, I was like "sweet, one is in my favourite colours, I'll get that." When I saw Animar, Soul of Elements, I didn't know what was to come.

So here we are now, years later, and most of the original cards are gone. Where it stands now is a very creature heavy, combo heavy, jankfest. What I'd like to improve is the versatility of the deck. What I find is that if Animar is taken out with some boardwipe, I have a hard time bouncing back. So I think I need to remove some redundant creatures and add some control, but without losing the feel of the deck. Let me know if you have a suggestion (whether its on the maybeboard or not), or if you have a suggestion of a card than can be booted.

Infinite Combos

The primary wincon of the deck is Cloudstone Curio. Basically the deck abuses ETB effects and "free" cards.

The funniest combo: Cloudstone Curio+Oblivion Sower+ any eldrazi or Ancestral Statue = remove all other libraries from the game. But this can also be realistically achieved with instead of a second eldrazi or Ancestral Statue, some creature with a single colour in its mana cost, and choosing a player whose deck has a pretty similar colour identity.

Runner-up : Cloudstone Curio+Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre+ any eldrazi or Ancestral Statue = destroy all permanents that aren't yours.

Ancestral Statue + Animar, Soul of Elements = infinite counters on Animar. This alone is fantastic, but combos well with additional cards too:

Ancestral Statue+Temur Ascendancy/Soul of the Harvest/Garruk's Packleader = infinite cards draw.

Ancestral Statue+Forgotten Ancient = infinite counters on all creatures next turn. Mix in some recursion with Thragtusk for infinite creatures with infinite P/T.

Deadeye Navigator+Peregrine Drake = infinite mana.

Of course the deck doesn't entirely rely in infinite combos; there are many alternate routes to sufficiently large amounts of mana, cards, and P/T.
