Straightforward. No 1 cmc spells, so Chalice on 1 that is a free win agains't some decks and very good against many. Since most (33)cards of the deck are 2 cmc Counterbalance will probably counter 2 mana spells reliably, more with 2 in play and, manamorphose for an angel shot or telling time. 1 Gaddock Teeg and 4 Glittering Wish will help us against tron and UWx Control. 4 Meddling mage will have our back against cards not covered with Chalice or Counterbalance. Manamorphose for manafixing, angel shot with 2+ Counterbalance in play and cantripping. It's a must in this deck. Telling time is the necessary partner of counterbalance+ is dope with surgical's in the sideboard. Also helps finding a Chalice for free win match ups. Anfanza is a nice add here, still cheap to play, good against graveyard decks if comes on time and a hitter, Kaya the same. Goyfs to apply pressure, have a body against some decks like dredge, hollow one, etc Collective Brutality for tempo & figuring out what's in the opponent's hand or what they are playing if we don't know. Value card since we don't have 1st turn plays, and also let's us make some value from cards that might be useless in some match ups, and in others, lets us buy time to seal the deal, eg against burn. Assassin's Trophy and Decay because sometimes thing's slide through, or we have to deal with big critters, or slow tron down till paddock comes.
