Between Managorger and Mistcutter, I'd probably go with Mistcutter only because he immediately hits the battlefield with plenty of +1/+1 counters and you don't have to spend a couple turns getting him up and goin. Personally though, I prefer Protean Hydra over both of them.

Brian1: Just wanted to let you know that unfortunately Abundant Growth doesn't quite work like that. It only gives the enchanted land the extra ability to make any color mana, not make an additional mana. I was running it in one of my decks thinking it works that way and got called out on it and lost my match. Here's a link about the ruling. Ruling

Thanks for the suggestions, I defently like Protean Hydra so I'll try it out see how it works.

Hey, thanks for the +1. I'm sure you've considered it, but how do you feel about Genesis Hydra? He's one of my favorite hydras. I agree with Mr.BiggieD, Mistcutter is so good. Even against non-blue haste is a good deal.

Thank you for the suggestion, I like Genesis Hydra but my only problem with it is if I hit a Primordial Hydra then it will go to the graveyard. I've also been playtesting Protean Hydra it's a very fun card so I might end up switching out Managorger Hydra for it.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking right after I posted it haha. Being G/B I feel like you could easily run some graveyard shenanigans. Although I think if you stick to hard cost hydras instead of the X's it would be alot easier.

Try Overgrowth? 3 drop allows for mana to tap for 3.

Thank you for the suggestion, I used to run Overgrowth to go full ramp but I found I already had plenty of mana so I used its slots on removal spells like Abrupt Decay

I see Bioshift in your sideboard, I would definitely run that one in your main deck since Corpsejack Menace and Bioshift together rule. Double your counters on a creature for only 1 mana, on instant speed! I like to attack, see one of my creatures blocked, and use bioshift to switch counters to the unblocked creature.

I also like Gyre Sage for lots of mana.

Thanks for upvoting my deck by the way, and since you seem to have a heavy basis in making your creatures immune to removals, I would highly suggest Asceticism as it does that for all creatures, can't be countered by even Sudden Spoiling or Polymorphist's Jest and removes the effects of creatures attacking your creatures such as deathtouch or for Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger it can't exile anything when it comes out. It's a really overpowered card for 5 mana, plus it can regenerate creatures for 2 mana. Fade into Antiquity also is a nice cheap removal card for green. Just right off the bat, if you add the Asceticism then you have room for more things by taking out the instants.

Thank you for the suggestion I used to run Asceticism it was always a little slow for me but I can try out 1 again.

My suggestion, take out those Protean Hydras for Avatar of the Resolute or Scavenging Ooze. You also have a decent amount of green devotion, Nykthos Shrine to Nyx could be a good land for you to add. -Sincerely, Fellow Hydra Stomper

P.S- Lightning Greaves are the card that makes my deck, untargetable Kalonian Hydras with haste, that's almost impossible to stop. I would remove Corpsejack for that, but that's just me

Thank you for the suggestions I like Avatar of the Resolute and Scavenging Ooze but there slower creatures and in multiplayer player I always need to keep playing hydras in case some die. I'll definitely look into to getting Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx it's a really good card. Also I've thought about Lightning Greaves but I don't want to remove corpse jack because that's the only reason I splashed black.

I wish there was a spot for Vigor in this deck.

I do like Vigor it would be a nice win condition. I'll play test with it and see how it goes, thank you very much for the suggestion.

I dig it, and run a deck like it. I like to use Managorger Hydra , Oran-Rief, the Vastwood , Llanowar Reborn , Winding Constrictor , Hardened Scales and other counterfriendly spells for some huge creatures.

Thank you for the suggestions! I used to run Managorger Hydra and really liked it but I found Protean Hydra to be a little faster. I have also tried Hardened Scales before but i found it to be a win more card as the extra counter rarely mattered. i do like Winding Constrictor but I don't know what i would remove for it. I like the Oran-Rief, the Vastwood but this deck needs a lot of mana fast so tapped lands are risky.

Though it would cost a lot maybe put a Doubling Season or two, possibly along with Unbound Flourishing

Hydras are so underrated!

What do you think of Doubling Season

Also, Apocalypse Hydra might be worth an include.
