I think you might need to add 4 lands since you run 3 colors.

How do this deck perform against Sylvan Caryatid /Courser of Kruphix decks? Playtested it a couple of times and I think your creatures can grow so fast that your opponents will have to chump block them with Caryatid/Courser. But if they're still a problem you can put a couple of Abzan Falconer to fly over blockers.

Is Stormbreath Dragon a headache for you? I think you have solid ways to deal with them with Curse of the Swine and Disdainful Stroke , but I'll still take out 1x Glare of Heresy and 1x Phyrexian Revoker and put 2x Singing Bell Strike to deal with Stormbeath and other big creatures, as it won't leave any boar token to chump block later.

And finally I think Ainok Bond-Kin would be a solid addition to this deck, it can give you advantage against mirror match and other weenie/aggro matchups, and can also protect your creature from Hornet Queen /Hornet Nest tokens, Heir of the Wilds or other deathtouchers.

Solid deck +1!

So, I just noticed that Return to the Ranks works on all of your creatures. Could be a sideboard card against grindy control matches were board wipe is screwing you. seriously though, field wipe is the only removal this deck should be afraid of. +1s all day!

Reap What Is Sown would work very well with Hardened Scales and all the Heroic triggers!

And that Sage of Hours is greedy, but if he'll work in any deck, this is the one :)

I like it. Abzan Falconer and Ainok Bond-Kin would be pretty useful in this deck. Also, a second Sage of Hours would mean greater chances at multiple turns. A double turn would almost certainly end in victory with this deck.

Really good; +1, man. I am using this deck as great playtest material against my deck, 3 Ways To Die; a perfect way to test/adjust my sideboard.

Ferretgr. I like reap what is sown from it's instant speed but with thaumaturge on the field it becomes (GW) incremental strength becomes (gg) figured a swap and see if I miss the instant speed. Sage is greedy just figured with the amount of protection spells he survives I use him offensively and peel back counters in response to removal.

Nomp return would do well. I was also thinking about cat priest tethmos.

Stormbreath can be troublesome but generally I've out paced the opponent and the dragon comes out as a defender. most 4/4 5/5s fall victim to growing heroics

Anok aswell as most the abzan counter enablers were in hell find a spot thank you all very much!

So in this deck counters are thrown on creatures and it seems like a creature with power of 4 wouldn't be rare so why run Glimpse the Sun God over Icy Blast ? I would prefer being able to swing all past tapped creatures and not have them untap to swing back

Grover007 says... #10

Same thought here. Its a question, I assume, of Scry vs. Ferocious. Scry will happen each time, where Ferocious may not. I prefer Icy.

gro0ve says... #11

You can EoT Glimpse the Sun God your own troops for heroic triggers across the board, scry 1 before your next draw then untap into your turn and Boom.

More utility plus a scry, whereas you may be stuck with it as an offensive tool if you pick Icy Blast

Wow, I really like Tethmos High Priest . I think that should get a place in your SB. Probably replace the Disdainful Stroke or Glare of Heresy . Really liking this deck though, may have to build it myself. Keep up the good work!

I like the synergy in the outlast +1/+1 creatures. I would try to fit in Abzan Battle Priest to give lifelink and Ajani, Mentor of Heroes or Ajani Steadfast to keep giving creatures counters.

I've been trying to stay away from the 4 and 5 cmc spell as without the ramp ill be focusing mana on those turns to trigger fleecemane hopefully by the time im dropping the fifth land ill be sealing the deal. thank you for you support and suggestions I really appreciate everyone taking the time to playtest this!

I'd say more Setessan Tactics in place of the Glimpse the Sun God . You get more heroic triggers this way and the latter is a far too defensive card. Also, remove the Sage of Hours for Battlewise Hoplite . It's a far too miscellaneous card. I'd also split the Battlefield Thaumaturge for Favored Hoplite , Fleecemane Lion and the addition of one Fabled Hero . Also, test around Gods Willing . I am not sure if that or Ajani's Presence is more suitable.

Hope that helped! +1

I just noticed the land count seems far too low. Try removing one Hardened Scales for any one more land of your choosing.

Awesome Bant deck. I might copy it and tweak it to make it my own. +1

The thaumaturge combos with just about every instant and sorcery spell turning glimpse the sun God into one of the best heroic triggers as I can tap the entire field for w triggering all my heroics and tapping any defenders. Then on my turn swing with the fleet and if sage is on the field dump his counters take another turn swing again with no defenders most often that's lethal. I'm currently comfortable with 20 lands as when thaumaturge is on the field nothing is 2cmc. And with fetches and mana confluenceI havnt had any issues pulling 3 colors. Feat of resistance is my godswillin in here. W for protection a heroic trigger a counter and if hardened scales is out that's 4 +1+1 counters in that exchange.

Awesome Jedi go for it id love to see a bant resurgence in standard!

At 18 creatures though, I would consider throwing in 2 more heroics to target and swap out Ordeal of Heliod . Mindreaver can get annoying, Artisan of Forms is fun and dirty, and Battlewise Hoplite is a pretty decent early threat. Fabled Hero is my go to guy, but I see you want to keep them at about 2.

WARPOPE says... #23

The uu would be hard to come by and though I like battlewise hoplite the ordeal help me gain back the blood I have to pour into my lands. I'll give it some thought. Thank you so much for taking the time to evaluate this build and the reason for the 2cmc creature cap is to make full use of tethmos if sideboarded in.

JediCreed94 says... #24

I realize that. It also makes you very aggressive. With enough 1 and 2 drops to cast on Favored Hoplite, you could have buffed him up past a 5/5 by turn 4, which is pretty scary. Which reminds me, if you like the one drops, Gods Willing is pretty awesome. Less awesome than Feat of Resistance in a counter deck imo, but still awesome, since you can trigger a heroic, while protecting him from a kill spell, and then get a scry too.

Just got my mirror deck up and nearly completed.
Fast Bant
Would like a little input from you, since it is basically your deck after all hahaha

Mostly just tossed the strives and a few others to up the count on others to keep it even more consistent.
