I playtested your deck vs mine, as mentioned earlier; best of 7.

C. Lions defeats came about through Land Destruction and getting lucky with the mill from Altars.

Your victories came through by your spells that cause my defenses to fail and that flying guy you have.

My advice is to add a dash more land and maybe 2 more creatures. Easier said than done, I know.

I suggest adding 1 forest, 1 island more.

Managed another land yav coast and full set of thaumaturge as he really makes this deck tick.

Cool, I think thats a good move. Just want to point out that I mentioned 1 forest, 1 island for reason of better mana generation.and something for fetchlands. I think It would be better, as a helpful observation.

Yes, good choice with Thaumaturge :)

The fetches are generally tutoring for that second w for phalanx I can make it by most games with 1 u or g source. Figured another coast would do me justice.

Sweet Deck! I'm a big fan of the outlast ability. I have won quite a bit of matches with it. Personally I like the use of Ajani, Mentor of Heroes to get all my creatures tagged with the static abilities. Dragon Scales really steps up the game with Ajani's +1. Well built deck!

@nck1sccr: That's that blue splash! It's why I love Bant. The solid White base to build off of to keep you and your creatures protected, the awesome power of Green, and fun shenanigans of Blue.

I didn't see anyone recommend Launch the Fleet which I love with heroic creatures and the Battlefield Thaumaturge on-line. Gets stupid if you have more than one Phalanx Leader out (and yes, I realize the soldiers don't get the counters). Wish there was a better unblockable creature in standard at the moment. Thassa, God of the Sea might be good, but perhaps not necessary with the tap mechanics in the deck. Ephemeral Shields also seems like it would be a nice addition. Free protection from removal is always good. Like the deck, I plan on building something similar.

I love launch the fleet and included 3 in the original build but was underwhelmed by it's performance with alot of local bile blight mainboard going on. As far as the Shields I more often than not am more comfortable with ajani's presence being able to have multiple targets and I swing for the fences as a general strategy not leaving many open white creatures to convoke. 1 fleet may make it back in the Shields is great but I don't operate off of auras so my instant triggers wouldn't be effective. Thank you though.

Have you thought about Ephara's Enlightenment ? Gives a counter, triggers heroic, and can be pulled back to your hand any time you trigger Tethmos. Three mana might be asking a lot given your land base, but it might be a better one-of than Ordeal of Heliod .

Did you think about some draw? Maybe Defiant Strike or Dig Through Time ...

thought about Reap What Is Sown instead of Ephara's Enlightenment ?

WARPOPE says... #18

Yes and incremental growth as both of those drop to 2cmc with thaumaturge. I'm still debating as enlightenment gives counters and can be recast that being but the flying does become a bit redundant. Gonna . Mull it over and PLAYTEST

Hey hateindigital here is my advice,

When i did playtest this deck, i realized something, that Favored Hoplite could easily be replaced by Hero of Iroas Now i understand that Favored Hoplite is your only one drop, but think of it this way. If you only have a total of 4 one drop creatures, you're not going to get that creature on the draw every game, and you certainly don't want to risk the mulligan etc... so the one extra mana for Hero of Iroas is worth it and it wont compromise your aggro strategy. It makes all your auras 1 less to cast. This is exceptionally good when you attacked and tappedout because casting your evasion auras for free ( Aqueous Form ) is essential. Casting your other Auras for one mana is good aswell

+1

Forgot to mention if Battlefield Thaumaturge is on the battlefield than all your auras are free

I like this deck. it is non-wedge, but it seems quite powerful.

you might run some draw to refill your hand and Gods Willing to further protect. other than that +1 from Chandra and I.

WARPOPE says... #23

Iroas was in and I swapped for favored great chumpblockness often surviving due to no damage resolving on him. I don't believe aqueous becomes free though. Thank for your time and logic.

I took at look as you requested, and this deck is very hard for my deck to deal with (as all of these heroic decks running tons of protection are for a 1-1 control deck). I did have a bit of trouble with the mana as 20 feels really low, but I also was on the cautious side of mulligans.
