I'm on the fence on using Prepare. Sure you get +2/+2 and lifelink. and a untap for Pride Sovereign which does help, but it isn't reliable for the aftermath ability of Fight which costs 4 mana and could kill your creature if your opponent has an instant within hand.

Nature's Way too many applies more answers. One you can kill a ground or flying creature without having to worry about losing your own creature in the process. You also get Trample and Vigilance which would already stack with Appeal / Authority.

I'll agree Prepare would work better with Pride Sovereign, but in standard this is a matter of speed when it comes to beating your opponent especially with the control and mill decks out right now. Adorned Pouncer with it's Double Strike is the better, cheaper, faster alternative to crush your opponents with. Pride Sovereign is more of a blocker, token generator, and source to imped your opponents progress.

Plus with Authority you can tap two creatures your opponent controls.

Zooby9 - Thanks for the comment. I completely agree with you, both those Selesnya cards are fantastic. However if I start taking out cats to put them in then I no longer have a cat theme :) I love them, but (for now at least) they will have to stay out because they just aren't kitty enough! Hah.

tru13 - Thanks for the comment again. I too am still not 100% sold on Prepare / Fight but I think the untap and buff are useful enough to warrant finding space for both that as wel as Nature's Way. In the end what I need to do is lots of playtesting to decide whether it's worthwhile or not. I don't think I can work it out just by looking!

Thing to also think about is casting Prepare on Adorned Pouncer that's a 12 point life swing on turn 3, 6 if they chimp block or 24 point life swing late game . I'd try and run both cards tho as one is removal suited the other more of a combat trick. Ambuscade would be a decent sideboard removal card.

So the deck is fun and can get crazy. I was playing a version on MTGO where I changed a few things and went 0-2. First time was against UR control and that game was bleh (went 1-2). The second game I lost due to timeout against a homebrew BG -1/-1 deck. We both had tons of creatures clogging the field and both sides had lifelink. Wish I could have finished it. I'm going to try your version out next since I can see why you made some of the choices you did.

Nice deck m8. I love the cat tribal and the new cats from HOU can add so much on this deck. I have created a deck for cats too Cat Deck GW. It has a lot of changes to fit my style but any advice would be appreciated.

majin_shinsa - Any more playtesting you've done lately? I'm always eager to hear!

mindness - Thanks for the comment! I'll take a look at your deck :)

I have not gotten a chance to play it again. This weekend I'm doing a modern PPTQ and have been busy outside MTG. Next week I would like to get back into standard and wanna try recording a few games. Last time I did record the games but somehow the mic didn't record...

One minor suggestion...with the price of this deck over $80, I would probably remove the world budget from the title. ;)

Otherwise, I'm looking forward to spending the next few months building this deck (as my budget permits no more than $40 per month of play room).

Seanchaidh_Rhiordan - You may be right! Although it just popped up that high, it used to be closer to $50-60.

That being said, $80 for a reasonable standard deck, with sideboard, isn't really very much for a magic deck :)

sagramore, as someone who is new (and has 10 kids, so must be super thrifty) I shall leave this to your expertise/judgement. ;)

Even with me disagreeing on what qualifies as "budget" (a very subjective terms), I still felt compelled to give out only my 3rd upvote ever on Tapped Out. It really does look like a phenomenal deck and I look forward to building/using it.

Seanchaidh_Rhiordan - I guess "budget" is always relative :D However, thank you for your kind words and the upvote. I hope you manage to get the deck and that it works out well for you!

Nice deck, yeah, +1! Still I would play Fumigate at least in sideboard against Aggro!

sagramore says... #17

5_Emmas_in_Main - Thanks for the +1! You might be right, it's worth considering. The only problem I foresee is that this deck is actually pretty Aggro itself and once you have enough mana to cast a Fumigate if you haven't got a ton of cats out already then you are probably dead :) Haha.

I'm about to have all the cards to make this deck, then shall unleash the beasts! Question! With the amount of cats/tokens that this can put out, what do you think about Throne of the God-Pharaoh?

August 24, 2017 10:58 a.m.

sagramore says... #19

Jaegur - I think it's a great card, in fact I run it in my commander deck because it's vehicles so you get double the number of tapped creatures when attacking! (see Depala and the 14 Dwarves)

However in this deck I am not sure what to replace!

Damn, that's a lot of dwarves!

Just started playing stanard again. This deck is super explosive but i found it needed card filter draw. Will be adding Lifecrafter's Bestiary to the board. Just need to work out what to take out. Thanks for the great start to standard.+1

Hello again! How are things looking post ixalan?

October 4, 2017 1:36 p.m.

sagramore says... #25

Jaegur - Hey!

I'm not sure, haha. I'm about to draft it & open a booster box but I've been scoping out some maybes that I've added to the maybeboard. I would gladly take any thoughts on them.... things like:

  • Growing Rites of Itlimoc - I feel this is great but might be too slow and not needed for this curve?
  • New Horizons - This is great but is it necessary? We have a low curve and don't really need the +1/+1 counter.
  • Rallying Roar - This might be good for untapping and buffing for a big swing or after a big swing to defend? Maybe swap out the Prepare / Fight but then we don't get the removal part....
  • Sunpetal Grove - Pretty sure a playset of these is going in but I need to obtain them first! I only have one so far. I will probably swap out the Tranquil Expanse.
  • Vanquisher's Banner - Another great tribal card but it's very expensive at 5.... Good anthem and some extra draw but I think it's too slow.

Anything I might've missed??
