Do you enjoy the agony on a players face when they see what you’ve played? Are you tired of watching combo players smugly go off? Do you enjoy winning games in unusual ways? Then my fried, Oloro, Ageless Ascetic creature-less Stax is for you.

The creature-less archetype is an unusual and difficult one to play. Once your pod realizes what you’re doing be prepared for a 3 on 1 game.

Stax

We are going to abuse low cost creature Stax pieces because while they’re normally symmetrical, having a creature-less board means only our opponents will feel the pain.

Enter the Battlefield Stax

Because you will never have a creature in play, Invoke Prejudice will double the cost of any creature your opponents cast. Overburden will force them to bounce a land. Tainted AEther blows up one of their other creatures or lands. Spreading Plague blows up all creatures of the same color.

Aura of Silence stops multiple combos that utilize zero drop artifacts. Cursed Totem ruins the day of activated ability combo players. Torpor Orb kills ETB combos.

Leyline of Singularity stops token generators in their tracks.

Stay in Play Stax The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale and Pendrell Mists both add an upkeep tax to your opponents creatures. Vile Consumption adds life tax. card:They Abyss forces your opponents to target and sacrifice one of their own each turn.

Humility is just a blast to get out. If you can get Moat out at the same time you, like myself, are the worst kind of person.

Drawing Stax Smothering Tithe taxes your opponents for drawing cards. This combos wonderfully with world wheel effects like Time Spiral, Echo of Eons, and Day's Undoing.

Wining the Game Aetherflux Reservoir

Exquisite Blood works well with Aetherflux Reservoir. Because we are always passively gaining life, Sanguine Bond will trigger this combo.

Stax games can go on past the point of being fun, so Approach of the Second Sun can be tutored for to win the game and end.

Getting Smothering Tithe on-line will generate a ton of treasure tokens. Flash out Revel in Riches on someone’s end step to win during your next upkeep.
