The deck is monoblack with emphasis on creature destruction, mana ramping, and direct damage. The first thing you'll notice is that there are no creatures; that's entertaining when playing against creature-based decks.
The front game is all about Wayfarer's Bauble and Everflowing Chalice for the mana ramp, and the late game is about draining their life, so a few hits in the beginning isn't a problem.
The mid game is gaining control of the board. You cut their casting power with Painful Quandary and Tainted AEther (while countering anything that gets through with Dash Hopes), empty their hand with Mind Sludge, and then wipe the board with Life's Finale. Even if only one of these control tactics resolves, the game will still be going in your favor.
I've had upwards to 10 swamps by this point, so the late game is about draining with Corrupt and Exsanguinate, and with spells being copied by Mirari, it's over pretty quickly.
Protection from black is obviously problematic, and fast decks are pretty tough.
