I would definitely run Wheel of Fortune actually, that way you can put more of it in and also save it for later, and you won't have to mulligan if it is in your opening hand. From playtesting it in mine I found Reforge the Soul either came up when I still had spells in my hand, or never came up at all, so I'll be going back to browbeat. But good luck finding some Wheel of Fortune s though!

The land depends on the deck really, this one I don't have too much of a problem at 20, or maybe 19, because you don't have as many high mana cost cards like my deck does. I'm stuck between choosing 21 and 22. Your average cmc is actually 1.58, since your Fireblast s practically have a 0 cmc, so if you're not going to add Reforge the Soul 18 should be fine for you, but just play-test it a lot of times if you do add it, you'll find the answer eventually.

Lol... Sister, you're so exuberant; I like that. Wheel of Fortune is restricted in Vintage and Commander, banned in Legacy. Quite unfortunate, pun intended.

On the lands, I'm really only concerned about having 3-4 mainly for Blood Moon and Shatterstorm in the sideboard. Of course Ball Lightning main, but you know. Solomon has a RDW where he main decks Reforge the Soul . I may have suggested it, but I digress... It's great in theory however I'm still very unsure about it in competitive play.

Yeah, I never pay the casting cost for Fireblast , rather I sac the Mountain s. Barbarian Ring can hinder that game one, but if Blood Moon is on the table games two and three, it's no matter. What's funny is that in play testing Reforge the Soul has often drew me into Fireblast and won me the game!

giggles Thanks for the compliment~

Nooo ... it's banned v.v I can see why though, it would break RDW in legacy.

Solomon does mainboard it, but I don't think his RDW deck is all that great actually. I removed the Quest for Pure Flame s in mine because it was lacking and slowing my turn 1 and turn 2 down. The only real reason why his decks get soo much hype is because of he takes a lot of time formatting it. It is nice and easy to read because the paragraphs are separated by images that give a depiction of what the paragraph just described. That gives people a positive mental attitude about it and then they +1 it.

I have another side-board suggestion: Leyline of Punishment .

October 4, 2013 11:19 p.m.

Lol sure thing!

Yeah, Sligh/Old School RDW played the ish out of Wheel of Fortune . It's an insanely powered card, especially for Red.

His formatting is quite nice. I need to learn HTML and crap...

Great suggestion! It's an interesting decision on what to side out of Sulfuric Vortex , Everlasting Torment , and Leyline of Punishment . The biggest con with Leyline is that if I have to hard cast it, I won't be able to until turn four. It does have great turn zero potential, though! The other two are almost the same, however Vortex sucks in an Aggro mirror but makes for a great clock. Torment makes use out of my beaters.

Wow I like this!. It brings me down memory lane with Ball Lightning and Chain Lightning such good memories.

Thanks :-) Chain Lightning is a staple. Ball Lightning definitely has a nostalgia factor. It may come out in favor of other cards, but it's in for now.

Awesome deck this is how my deck would be for the most part if it was legacy +1.

:3

Thank you kindly! It's pretty efficient and consistent, typically winning by turn 4, sometimes turn 5. Fireblast is a very powerful card.

I wish they would reprint it that would be amazing. :D

December 6, 2013 1:38 p.m.

For sure! It's like a red Force of Will . Doubtful it'll see a reprint. Although it was in the Premium Deck Series, Fire and Lightning.

Smash to Smithereens is the best artifact removal for this deck.

January 19, 2014 2:52 p.m.

Agreed! I need to pick up a few more.

@Kaitoghost What do you think about Spark Elemental ? I was Ponder ing taking him out in favor of more Price of Progress and Flame Rift . The bonus about Spark Elemental is that he, along with Keldon Marauders and Ball Lightning , take care of Bridge from Below ... But, Sparkie sucks to draw late game... Thoughts?????

aeonstoremyliver Well I am back again to see your deck :D as to the question you asked I believe Spark Elemental is more effective than Ball Lightning and should not be taken out before it because it comes down faster plus if this is truly RDW you should not even rely on late game as the common saying goes if your playing RDW and your in late game you probably already loss.

I agree with Snowstorm. I wouldn't worry about Dredge decks game one, unless your meta is full of them.

January 19, 2014 3:45 p.m.

Ball Lightning is still pretty badass... I should clarify that when I refer to "late game" I mean turn 4-5.

Sparky does add fuel for Grim Lavamancer ... I dunno. I'm definitely torn about it. I don't want to run a playset of Price of Progress or Flame Rift , but did think that one more of each would be nice in place of Sparky.

Oh I should have figure that what you meant XD. I also think Ball Lightning is awesome card but I just can't justify it in my deck for it being a three drop as having too many slows the deck the only three drops that are in my deck are Blood Moon and Molten Rain which is in the side and Flames of the Blood Hand .

January 19, 2014 4:02 p.m.

Agreed. I like to run on 3-4 Mountain s myself.

Finally got around to playtesting this against my Delver list. Your burn deck won, 2-1. Although, it should be mentioned that I have no idea how to sideboard with tappedout's playtest feature.

March 9, 2014 10:49 p.m.

Really? Sweet! I can build a competitive deck lol.

Yeah, I haven't figured out how to sideboard in the play tester either. Should we start a forum thread?

If you want, go ahead. I don't use it enough to bother me.

March 10, 2014 7:41 p.m.

You've been a great help with comments and suggestions, btw. Thank you!

I started a thread, and there isn't a feature that allows sideboard swapping...

March 10, 2014 11:22 p.m.

Hunting down solid burn list to study and compare.

I like this one +1

March 26, 2014 12:04 p.m.

Thanks! I've put lots of time, effort, and cash into it lol.

If I can get ahold of a few more fetches, that'll make a difference. Especially the Onslaught ones. I may tweak the sideboard a bit to be able to hose TES/ANT and Show and Tell .

I've considered splashing Sacred Foundry or Plateau to board Disenchant or something for Leyline of Sanctity .

Also, I would suggest Keldon Megaliths and why is Ashen Rider in the SB?
