Before the frustration and annoyance of Infect, there was Wither. An ability that weakened opponent creatures with -1/-1 counters but dealt damage to players normally. This deck is built to remember that ability, and to remind others that there was a time when "Oh you're gaining life? TOO BAD, 10 POISON COUNTERS" and "One poison counter = proliferate to death" didn't exist.

The playstyle is simple: -1/-1 counters on everything. On the enemy creatures, it weakens them and potentially makes them useless by Kulrath Knight. On allied creatures, it becomes a tool and asset thanks to Deity of Scars , Quillspike and Fate Transfer . Blowfly Infestation and Contagion Engine spread the -1/-1 counters even further, and Necroskitter brings some new allies to the field as the plague begins claiming victims. Throw out Black Sun's Zenith when a board wipe as needed, or to just cripple all the things at once with 1 or 2 mana for X.
