This deck seems like a lot of fun! If you wanna see some cool cards like Elder Mastery , check out my Nekusar deck: MagicalHacker - Nekusar, the Mindrazer.

@ hobnail2142 -- Monomania is good but not as efficient as I'd like in multiplayer. I want to target everyone at once.
@ MagicalHacker -- Hmm I've considered that but I also want to think about Chandra Ablaze ... My curve is already relatively high to start with. How has she worked out for you? Is there anything in my build that you tried and it ended up not working for you?
@ dejrgne -- Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind is great if you're open going infinite, which I will not do.

With my build, since everyone is drawing cards, it's not often that someone misses a land drop before turn 8

@ MagicalHacker -- True. One thing I did notice with my deck is that I don't want to give my opponents card "advantage". I want force feed them cards until they throw them up. I've tried to stay away from Howling Mine
and Temple Bell
effects so that they're flooded. That said, I have missed land drops but getting a 6-drop out before T8 is pretty reasonable.

Did you find any other cards in that deck that you liked?

i would add Ghost Quarter to get rid of Reliquary Tower . Make them keep their hand of 7 to make them discard. as for Phyrexian Tyranny i love it, it completely fits in the deck. Also i recently added Diplomatic Immunity to my deck to help protect Nekusar. IMO Kederekt Leviathan could screw you over also, unless your really losing he could be a good last ditch effort, but overall he seems like he would be more of a dead draw. Lazav, Dimir Mastermind seems like he could be useful, i would leave him in just in case. Check out my deck WHAT'S IN THE BOX??? our decks seems very similar though. How does Bloodchief Ascension work for you? i was thinking of adding it to my deck also.

@ MagicalHacker -- I really like your use of infect, but I'm trying to keep some of my friends :P Haha anyways, it's extremely strong but it's not my playstyle. It's an amazing idea though.
@ Valentine35 -- Thanks for the comment! What land should I remove for Ghost Quarter ? A basic? Also how does the Tyranny work for you? I'm afraid that it'll hurt me too much unless I have something like Necropotence or Tomorrow out, but I also really like Words of War and would like to keep that in.
I haven't tested the deck much as I don't have it completed in paper yet, but Bloodchief Ascension has been promising in playtesting. It's easy to get the counters, and once it does it's easily 20+ life per wheel.

yeah you could probably afford to drop a Swamp if you need to. I usually play Phyrexian Tyranny when i have board control. It forces other players to not play a lot of cards, while you can simply sit back and make them take damage every turn with your other enchantments or Nekusar himself. Since you'll have board control you'll have enough mana to pay the cost of taking the damage or not. The few times i go it out, it worked great for me.

@ Valentine35 -- Hm. I'll have to try it out. For Phyrexian Tyranny and Tomorrow, Azami's Familiar , how about removing Kederekt Leviathan and Psychosis Crawler ?
August 7, 2014 10:19 p.m.
Valentine35 says... #13
i would keep the Psychosis Crawler , as for the Familiar, i have never played it before but it seems like it would work really well, maybe drop either Nicol Bolas , or Lazav, Dimir Mastermind . I'd try testing them each out though, just to see which one you prefer. Most of the creatures i use are just for extra loss of life, i rarely attack with any of my creatures lol. Maybe drop both of them and add the familiar, and Seizan, Perverter of Truth

Whip of Erebos is great because it give Nekusar life link

Sorry guys, I completely missed this notification.
@ Valentine35 -- I haven't had a chance to test out Bolas in this deck, but he's mainly in here for flavor. I did make some changes, which included the addition of Seizan, Perverter of Truth and Tomorrow, Azami's Familiar . What do you think?
@ scopesightzx -- Interesting idea to give my creatures lifelink, but I'm not sure if Whip of Erebos is the best option for that. Its reanimate ability will be useless in the majority of the games I play. I will look into the lifelink aspect though, thank you!

@ evkede -- I've considered him, but this deck doesn't focus on attacking at all; if I had ways of getting damage through with him consistently, I would definitely add him. Plus, he doesn't affect all players at the table, which is another downside in a multiplayer deck. I realize by this logic Nicol Bolas
shouldn't be in the deck, but he is solely for flavor.

@ blade777 -- Phyresis and other infect-giving cards and great and cruel on Nekusar, but it's not for me nor my playgroup. Along with infinite combos, infect has been deemed a "no fly zone" in my playgroup.

Dragon Mage makes everyone wheel, I don't know what you're talking about.

@ DoctorQuack -- Guess I can't read. Anyways, my other point still stands. I don't have a way of consistently dealing combat damage. I can make him indestructible, but at least one of my opponents will be able to deal with him once he hits the field.

How is Wheel of Fate working for you? I found it to be impractical at best, because most times when that fourth turn came around, I'd rather not have wheeled my hand and played one or more other cards. Same goes for Darksteel Plate and Elder Mastery . Even though I love them in every way, most of the time, they sat on my hand and did nothing, due to lack of Nekusar on battlefield, or lack of enough mana, because of more imminently important spells. I also removed all other hexproof/shroud/indestructible giving artifacts to accommodate more spells, but I'm still testing if that was a smart decision. Also, you seem to have little ramp, other than the obvious "lets all draw lots of cards together". After many games against uber heavy ramp decks that double my mana output, I found myself wanting more and more ramp in my own deck, so as not to get seriously pounded by the many spells I'm putting into my opponents hands all the time. How have you been dealing with that?
Cards that have worked well for me that you might consider are Venser's Journal , Profane Memento and Mindcrank , although the latter may conflict with your groups no infinite combo policy when combod with Bloodchief Ascension . Molten Psyche is nice too, because of the extra damage and lower mana cost. I also play Havoc Festival , just because it's hilarious and everyone hates it.

@ ManSauce -- Thank you for the comments, I'll respond to your points below. In general, I haven't had much time or ability to test this in its proper environment. Getting my friends together for a 4-man pod isn't easy anymore. Anyways:
- Wheel of Fate has been fine, I just have to play around its effect once I know what my plays will be. At the least, it's a monetarily appropriate wheel effect for my deck.
- I'm running Darksteel Plate and other protection permanents because whether it be Nekusar, Fate Unraveler , or any of the key cards, my playgroup has the tendency to single him out with the highest of prices on his head. With that said, a few posts up states the reason why Elder Mastery shouldn't be in the deck, so I will be looking to remove. Probably for some ramp.
- I have been finding that I neeed more ramp, and I will be looking to add more. I'll speak to that more below.
- How has the lifegain worked for you? I haven't tested much, but the lifegain I add usually ends up being insignificant.
- I'll look to adding Molten Psyche though, I would like to run a few more artifacts before I add it. That will probably come with my changes.
I hope I covered everything. Currently I'm looking to drop Elder Mastery and Helm of the Ghastlord , and I'll probably end up cutting Nicol Bolas and Crosis, the Purger as this deck shouldn't need to attack to win. In place of the first two, I'll add Molten Psyche and Obelisk of Grixis ? Dimir Signet , maybe? Some form of a mana rock. Ideally I'd like a Mana Vault , but I've been trying to find one of those for months and can't.

This is an awesome deck. Makes me wonder why I'm such a bad deck builder... Anyway, would you be able to look at my deck Grixisy Stuff.

I never actually get to cast and attack with Dragon Mage . He always feels wasted. I'd rather just cast Wheel of Fortune .
