Ok, so truth be told Cruel Ultimatum is only a small part of the deck. We can, however, potentially copy the effect with Spellweaver's Helix. The main idea of this deck, is to kill your opponent through some mixture of win conditions. We have Seismic Assault, Countryside Crusher, Tasigur, the Golden Fang, Cruel Ultimatum, and 10 man lands. Spellweaver's Helix is here to copy our sorceries. We can mix and match Treasure Hunt, Life from the Loam, Faithless Looting, or Cruel Ultimatum because all of these effects are good for what we're trying to do. Spellweaver's Helix is a 2 of because it isn't required, but adds value if we can use it. I also put 2x more Countryside Crusher in the sideboard to help with Leyline of Sanctity.
