Where will you get artifact if you took out Trail of Evidence?

TheLegendz, I won't game 1. Just filtering 2 cards and discarding one isn't very bad for 3 instant-mana.

Game 2, if Im facing a heavy control deck and I side in Trail of Evidence, then I can draw even more cards.

Remember, the idea is for us to use AS MANY INSTANT/SORCERIES as possible, and as fast as we can! We gotta build us a graveyard full of them to make more zombies! Therefore, Artificer's Epiphany is cheap and may get us one card in the hand and possibly one or two (if you count the card itself) instant/sorcery in our graveyard. Win/Win.

Also, if fighting aggro decks, I probably won't even have the chance to play heavy draw cards. So it's 3 mana is good enough for both matches. If you think counters will help you more than draw on the aggro match-up, you can cut them. It's up to your discernment.

Well,, Then Why you add more Thing in the Ice  Flip? Its can be easly controled if opponent deck is control deck with Immolating Glare, Stasis Snare, Isolation Zone or other like that. You know this deck is very unique and very fun to be played. I have this deck and i played this deck againist all my friend. The problem is im still getting lose if i beat an aggro deck, They have many instant or soccery that only needs 1 or 2 manacost. I mean we cant always counter their instant or soccery with Void or Scatter. And the second problem is if the creatures are casted and already on the battlefield. I will get lose if they still dealing damage to player. Specially the hexproof one, My big problem is the creatures that has hexproof or "It cant be countered" Nice one for the Hydrolash, Im getting trouble with Grip of the Roil because i need a target and if the target was hexproof, My grip is very useless. And more practicing will give me more experience so keep updating this deck, You know i always check this deck daily :) Nice deck, I really love this deck because my friends hate it :D

TheLegendz, I keep updating exactly because I find some flaws and I want to make it the most versatile I can.

Hydrolash will help you a lot against those pesky hexproof creatures. I added Thing in the Ice  Flip because there are many decks in standard that have MANY creatures and very few (or none) removal spells. Some red deck wins and monowhite weenies (humans), they can kill you in turn 4. The ONLY way this deck can defeat them Game 1 is if we drop Thing in the Ice  Flip to block and then use our spells to flip it, making it a 7/8 that sends all their creatures back to their hands.

I personally don't see people using Immolating Glare or Isolation Zone, only Stasis Snare. But remember:

  1. You have counters to those removal spells
  2. If they use those removal spells, they aren't hyper-aggro decks - so you can take it easy and try to win with Rise from the Tides. Thing in the Ice  Flip is your plan B - it is only Plan A against super-fast decks.

  3. Try to use Welcome to the Fold if you face aggro, I have a hint it might be very useful.

TheLegendz, one more thing - you can use Displacement Wave and Crush of Tentacles in the sideboard if your opponents are using too many hexproof creatures, instead of using Adverse Conditions and Send to Sleep.

The spells on the main deck now - Hydrolash and Engulf the Shore are also good agaisnt them.

June 6, 2016 11:34 a.m.

TheLegendz says... #6

How many Welcome to the Fold, Displacement Wave, Crush of Tentacles should i use? Thanks for your reply, I will try to beat againist hexproof soon, I want to use this deck for my local fnm, And next question, How if the planswalkers are on battlefield? You cant attack it if you have no zombies or if you have no creature, You cant return it with engulf or tap it, You just can counter it before enter the battlefield, I beat my friend deck (planswalker deck) with this deck and im getting a little bit problem. First game i won it with 24 zombies :D

June 6, 2016 6:07 p.m.

Snow_Lynx says... #7

TheLegendz, haha, very nice. How many you should use? Only 2 Crush of Tentacles. Perhaps 3-4 Displacement Wave, but I don't like the spell very much... since you can only use in your turn, and it affects your zombies and thing...

Welcome to the Fold, howver, is great, but you need to watch out if the person you are playing against has a lot of 2-toughness creatures.

Btw, I just started playing MTGO and won against a green/red-ramp deck using Awoken Horror  Flip twice, on games 2 and 3 (game one I didnt get it turn 2 and he cast a chandra after I used my zombies).

I sided out 4 Engulf the Shore and 4 Clash of Wills for 4 Send to Sleep and 4 Invasive Surgery (since he used Explosive Vegetation and Nissa's Renewal). Worked very well, even by facing a World Breaker (which I countered btw!) and a Tireless Tracker (which I Send to Sleep).

Btw Send to Sleep is awesome, it does not need any target and is 2 mana!

TheLegendz says... #8

Snow_Lynx Well, Can you describe the Maybeboard? Looks like Jace's Sanctum is good for this deck, That Send to Sleep is good for aggro because we can delay it for 2 manacost :D

June 6, 2016 10:55 p.m.

Snow_Lynx says... #9

Maybeboard is just some ideas I have... I like Jace's Sanctum but it is terribly slow. It might be a bit better than Trail of Evidence, depends on the match-up I guess.

Prism Ring is seeing some play in another monoblue deck that is doing quite well at GPs - "Monoblue Prison". The prism does quite a good work on delaying our deaths, specially in multiples.

Here's the link to his deck: http://magic.wizards.com/en/events/coverage/gpman16/mono-blue-prison-with-martin-muller-2016-05-28

But beware, it's a combo deck, it's not exactly like our deck.

June 6, 2016 10:59 p.m.

TheLegendz says... #10

So, Should i use that Prism Ring? Its 1 mana cost and maybe good for monoblue deck like this, i saw the prison deck. And its very different. You know our win-con is Rise from the Tides and Thing in the Ice  Flip here. And maybe that Prism Ring is good for late game.

June 6, 2016 11:17 p.m.

Snow_Lynx says... #11

Maybe. It can certainly work with Artificer's Epiphany, so if you wish to give it a try, please tell me how it went!

Btw, I won 2 more games in MTGO, only losing to a werewolves green/red deck that started game 3 with perfect aggro hand (and I didn't draw any win-con).

I fought with a mirror-like deck (the brain in a jar one), and I won easily 2-0.

June 6, 2016 11:25 p.m.

TheLegendz says... #12

Snow_Lynx what should i replace for Prism Ring? I will send you a report after i test it. Well so our weakness is fast aggro that can kill us in turn 3 like werewolf, prowess, or vampire. Am i right? Need a changes to beat that aggro :D

June 7, 2016 12:03 a.m.

TheLegendz says... #13

Snow_Lynx How did you play in MTGO? Is that free or we should pay?

June 7, 2016 12:15 a.m.

Snow_Lynx says... #14

TheLegendz. it is paid, but it's not all that expensive... I think...

Anyways, I just got whooped by that combo deck <_<

If we dont get good counters in place, it's very hard to win against them >.<

June 7, 2016 2:32 a.m.

Ok, was reading the posts and I may be able to offer something in the way of dealing with aggro. Sidisi faithful and qarsi deciever. This does take away from some slots for instants and sorceries, but just using them isnt really getting the job done against this match up anyway. Try tossing in a couple, couldnt hurt.

June 7, 2016 2:46 a.m.

TheLegendz says... #16

I just tested with my friends Hexproof deck, I got lost because my Thing in the Ice  Flip was exiled with Stasis Snare. And I got lost because that Gaea's Revenge which cant be countered and that abilities was very strong againist non-green spells. The only one hope is that zombies

June 7, 2016 3 a.m.

Snow_Lynx says... #17

TheLegendz, yes, there's no way to divert Gaea's Revenge if you don't have Awoken Horror  Flip or a team of zombies in play... sadly, the card is just too good against blue.

What you CAN do is use stuff like Oblivion Sower or Sphinx of the Final Word to block the guy. However, if they exile/removal your creature, then you can only use the zombie way, there are no other tricks to it.

Remember, disruptive aggro is probably the worst match-up agaisnt control. There's not much you can do but try another deck. Maybe Red deck wins?

June 7, 2016 4:36 a.m.

TheLegendz says... #18

I just tested my deck againist vampire aggro, esper control, necromatic summonning deck (he used eldrazi and zombie) and that hexproof sphinx. First i won againist vampire aggro with 2-0. First game i won with my thing in the ice and second game i used that Welcome to the Fold + Prism Ring, The weakness is you cant pay the surge because you control artifact, but you can gain life from casting spells, second game i won because that massive 13 zombies. And the report for esper control, I still lose the first game because he has Languish, Planar, And that vyrulent. But the second game i won because that massive zombies (again). The third game i lose because i cant tap hexproof creatures with Send to Sleep. I just delay it with Hydrolash. And the zombie eldrazi. I lost the first game because i dont draw any win-con plus he has Brain in a Jar. He can cast necromatic summon for 10/8 eldrazi and 7/5 bala ged. You know he cast that spell in my turn with Brain in a Jar so he can attack in his turn. And he can gain life with lifelink

June 7, 2016 11:03 p.m.

Snow_Lynx says... #19

TheLegendz, I see. You know you can still counter spells even if they are cast with Brain in a Jar, right? It's like they have cost 1.

Im going to change 2 Calculated Dismissal for 2 Void Shatter, because I think 4 calculated dismissal isn't that good.

June 8, 2016 12:37 a.m.

TheLegendz says... #20

Snow_Lynx Yaaa i will try to counter that brain in the jar, I agree but they are still same counter, Void Shatter good againist zombie that can revive from graveyard to battlefield, Need to exile it :D. Im very happy because that Welcome to the Fold is very very good for aggro.. I can beat that unbeatable vampire aggro, Thanks for suggestion

June 8, 2016 1:24 a.m.

TheLegendz says... #21

Pluss, Maybe Brain in a Jar is good because if our mana tapped you cant counter spell and if you cast Rise from the Tides, You need next turn to use your zombies

June 8, 2016 1:43 a.m.

Snow_Lynx says... #22

Brain in a Jar can be very good in the deck, but I don't have any place for it. Plus, since we play mostly instants, there's no real need for it unless you wish to lessen costs. And to play it only for Rise from the Tides, I think it would be too slow. Since you need to spend 1 mana every turn for 6 turns AFTER you put the brain in the field. Seems a bit too long.

And as I said, I don't know what to cut. If you want to try, I would begin cutting the 1 Send to Sleep and 1 Hydrolash and 1 Artificer's Epiphany for it. Might work.

June 8, 2016 2:11 a.m.

TheLegendz says... #23

I dont mind if i put that Brain in a Jar in this deck. I know this deck is focussing on our 2 win-con, But we need to control the game. Maybe blighted cataract a little bit useless because we need to pay 6 mana for draw 2 card. Sometimes it very usefull in late game. Im still satisfied that i can win againist aggro deck. The problem is another control deck. Looks like the only hope is zombie :D Need to cast it on time

June 8, 2016 4:44 a.m.

TheLegendz says... #24

What if you put Jace unraveler?

June 8, 2016 4:47 a.m.

TheLegendz says... #25

I have some suggestion card, First Psychic Rebuttal is good for countering and Exert Influence os better than Welcome to the Fold. And Brilliant Spectrum is good for mono colored deck. Whats your opinion?
