it was my first time ever at a sanctioned event, and i did okay... although in one very embarrassing escapade, i forgot to pay the cost on pact of negation at the next upkeep and lost. whoopsies.

merlia pod: 2-1

woulda had game two, easy, except for the aforementioned pact of negation misplay. I had answers for everything, and Pithing Needle'd Birthing Pod made it a rough day for him.

gruul aggro: 0-2

my deck absolutely shit the bed. it was already going to be a tough match, i probably would have lost anyway, but mulliganing to 5 two games in a row to find land, didn't help either. games were over in like 10 minutes.

netdeck modern jund 1-2

4x Tarmogoyf 4x Dark Confidant 4x Deathrite Shaman 4x Thoughtseize etc., was this guy's deck. game one was beautiful, i had answers for everything, jokes for days, and then he scooped after a ultimatum. after that, the story of the next two games was having not quite enough removal to deal with everything he threw at me. sucks to suck, i suppose. saddest moment: Wall of Omens draws a Terminus that would have saved me.

izzet + white agro 2-0

Wee Dragonauts kinda deal, and then he'd boros charm them, jokes like that. didn't matter though, because: dog. instant speed spot removal is my jam. also board wipes pretty good.

things learned: manabases, pretty important. more land next time i play for realzies, that was the biggest problem with the deck. it had answers for most everything, i was proud.
